Recently posted deal for INFORAD was cheaper but now apparently they have not renewed their license with PGPSW (update provider) so 'lifetime free update' is doubt full.
this one comes with life time free update.

Have had an Inforad and a Novus and these things are only ever as good as their databases.
For me you can't beat the Talex but...50 odd quid a year for the updates is rather steep and is why I no longer subscibe.
Been looking for ages now for a replacement and this unit was a contender but it has no live speed indication and does not recognise red light cameras which is a bit useless as most of these are speed cameras too. Couple this with the Novus database not being that up to date makes it not as good as buy as it looks for 40 quid.
If you've never owned one then probably worth a punt but if you want to trust it then maybe not.

I have the Novus Rider and was going to differ with you but according to their website the last update was over a year ago.
Looks like I've been more lucky than advised.

I therefore STRONGLY advise anyone AGAINST buying any Novus item.

Littel helper.
Can you please check to see if Novus have stopped updating too please as their website only shows a realy old update.
Thank you.
Why dont you just open your eyes whilst driving and actually see the cameras coming, there bright yellow ffs!

The only ones you need help with are the mobile ones and this doesnt do them!

I agree 100% Novus are very poor at updates, I have written/emailed to them a dozen times about their database. they don't ever reply...... So a Cold from me I'm afraid.

Pluun,
i could see nothing on their website to suggest anything to be honest.
honestly speaking i don't know who to trust INFORAD or NOVUS. so for the money and assurance i received i have gone for INFORAD. fingers crossed..
Remember people from the 1st July if your driving in France these are banned and if found using one you will recieve an on the spot fine

Sorry m8 but the update you refer to is catalogued as "DB1015".
I can't see how, under their explanation of the numbers, refers to May 2012.

"For example, 9076. This tells you that 09 is 2009, 07 is the month of July and 6 is the updates done in that month, so there has been six updates done during this month."
DB1015 seems to say it's 2011. January, update 5 to me.

stating the obvious here but if you drive at/under the speed limit you won't need such a device.........

Does your Talex actually show the updates ON it?
Because @ 19-09 and 26 seconds, today, 16/06/2012, the Novus site still shows DB1015 for most models and 11.01.26 for the Novus Alpha and that's all us Novus users have to go by.

You're having a laff.
Bye.
Sorry, you're not.
I appologise.
Somehow I have been accessing their site on an old page.
I have had to re-register to get to the same update as you.
Although I have been registered with them since April 08 they had no record of me.
Thank you for your attempts to help me and your patience. oO
