NOW CONFIRMED from Today (1/12/11) - mini bottles of Wine, fab offer (read below) @ Tesco....

Also details of offers (25% off) full size bottles of wine - see posts from other members...
UPDATE 1/12/11 - Someone has confirmed that this is working! (see pages 5 & 6 of comments).
Ok some of you will remember this happening before Xmas last year (if anyone can find the post please put a link up) and i've just had an email indicating the same will be happening again....

The mini bottles of wine (usually 18.7cl) are on 2 for £3 until 3/12/11
BUT the email I just received says that you get 25% off when you buy 3x bottles of wine.
The way this worked last year was that you got 25% off the full price, then it gave you the 3 for 2 and it then gave you that discounted price off the 3 for 2 price. I'll have a go at explaining....

Blossom Hill White Zinfandael £2.29 each
£2.29 x 6 = £13.74
25% of this is £3.43

Buy 6x bottles on 2 for £3 = £9
£9 - £3.43 (the 25% discount)
= £5.57 for 6

It worked last year - I ended up going back a few times for this deal as it was so good, it was working out far cheaper than buying full size bottles.

DONT FORGET THE 25% DOESN'T START TILL TOMORROW AND THE 3 FOR 2 ENDS ON THE 3/12/11 so you'll need to do it in this time slot. Whoever gets to try it out first, please can you post back to confirm? I can't get to a Store until Friday night so i'm hoping it works!

Please don't slate me for posting this before trying it out - I thought i'd post now or it'd be too late by the time I got to give it a go, i'd rather give the heads-up and give you all a chance.

Hot if it works again.

I'm going to look like a right tit if it doesn't though.....

It worked last year, will try again tomorrow, thanks

The 25% discount on the larger FULL SIZE 75ml bottles make them cheaper in some cases by quite some margin

Reserve White Grenache 75cl Was £38.70 per case

Now £17.10 per case

Equivalent to £2.85 per bottle

tesco.com/win…ill

J P CHENET BLANC (6x75cl)
£17.10
1 J.P. Chenet Rouge 75cl (6x75cl)
£17.10
1 Banrock Station Light Chardonnay Sauvignon Blanc (6x75cl)
£17.04
1 First Cape Limited Release Shiraz Rosé (6x75cl)
£19.14

also for a further discount

Used code XXTTPT for £15 off £60 spend
Free Next day delivery on your first wine shop XXJJXJ
+ another £5 cash back if you go through quidco

Makes this so called deal stone cold

Did it work on online grocery orders too? Were there any issues with substitutions and not getting the resulting discount?

Hi
hope I'm just being slow, but would it not be £9 for 6 bottles 2 for £3? Are there actually 3 offers here:- a) 3for2, b) 2 for £3 & c) 25% off?
Thanks

"buy 6 bottles on 2 for £3"

equals £9, not £6 as stated

Done this a few times now, great deal.

Love the assistants face when it takes a massive amount off the bill - priceless!

THE LOGIC/CALC SHOULD BE:

Blossom Hill White Zinfandael £2.29 each
£2.29 x 6 = £13.74
25% of this is £3.43
Buy 6x bottles on 2 for £3 = £9.00
£9.00 - £3.43
= £5.57 for 6
ie 93p/bottle instead of £2.29 = 60% off
and with 4 small bottles making up one 750ml regular bottle = 93p * 4 = £3.72/"full-bottle"

I'm confused by the sums but I hope it works :-) LOL

i will get 1million bottles to get really drunk

I would is a knew when "XMAS" was?
That holiday celebration does not exist!

mmm I think I'll be popping to tesco tomorrow!!!!!

Am already getting drunk, someone please helpppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp.

ime a bit confused to,,sorry,,so are you saying if i went in tomorow and bought 6 bottles of blossom hill white zinfandael i could get them , if the deal works for £5-57 instead of £13-74.?

Fab thanks will def try this tomorrow also was going to buy small bottles for my sloe vodka and sloe gin, for Christmas presents......this way I get them for free!!!

I bought it last year and it was fab. to answer above they are on 3 for 2 so you have to buy 2 of the 3 for 2 deals = £6 then apply discount. Does anyone know what is happening in Scotland??

The dearer bottles end up giving the best deal remember! (as long as they are in the multibuy deal too!)

How it works: They total all the wine you buy, so 100 bottles at 2.29 is £229

They take 25% off this amount, so 57.25 quid off

229 - 57.25 = 171.75

So if it were 3 for 2 they would take 33 bottles off this (full price)

33 x 2.29 = 75.57

Total would then be 171.75 - 75.57 = £96.18

Which equates to 96p a bottle or 4 x 96 = £3.84 for the equivalent full size bottle

o i
So in affect we are getting one and half bottles of wine, for less than one normal price of Blossom Hill then?

I used 100 bottles for easier maths, but the bets deal is to of course stick to multiples of 3 that are 6 or greater!

i.e. 6,9,12,15,18 etc

Always worth waiting on confirmation that the deal is working as it did in the past before hitting it hard!

Slight error in the maths but a good deal, not as good as last time as these bottles were 4 for £5 then. I still have loads, and don't forget that you can include the £10 meal deal for which you save £2-50 a shot (if the wine included was £10).

Would you really pay £5.76 for Blossom Hill?!

If so, yes and remember you get them in the much handier small size bottles - saves the pain of having to drink a whole bottle in one sitting. LOL

no instead of £9

Lol i'm even confused myself now - if my calculations were wrong I do apologise, i'm struggling to think straight with a bunged up head of sinusitis (sympathy accepted lol)

Either way, I know this was a great deal last year so i'll be happy if it works again as I can't afford to be buying loads of big bottles to make the saving

If my calculation is wrong, and anyone can put it into plain text in a post for me that makes sense, i'll replace with what is already in my OP. Thanks!

Original Poster

p.s. the current offer isn't 3 for 2, it's 2 for £3 so my calculation is quite possibly wrong but it won't be far out either.

The mini bottles of wine (usually 18.7cl)

This is just spam....post it when you know it works

THis is the most outrageously stupid post ever.

God - need a glass of wine after reading all that!

Original Poster

Thank you to the sensible Admin of HUKD for realising that this is not spam - now the people who want to find out for themselves and take advantage of the offer can, and no doubt the wingers will too (and they'll probably still winge about it)!

At the end of the day, if you aren't sure either go find out for yourself or wait until someone confirms it here, then vote. Simple really!

I guess it's the people who it worked for last year so it's a good chance it will this year.
However if people would rather wait before voting then that's totally fair.

My head hurts! oO
Isn't there some small print that says "Only one offer can be applied to any one purchase"...or words to that effect?

was so much better when it was 4 for £5, this worked out at 66p per small bottle or £2.64 for a full bottle I brought around 200 bottles on this deal. The 2 for £3 replaced the for 4 for £5 about 8 months ago, still works out not a bad deal. I will be suprised if Tesco fall for this deal again, as this would be about the 5th time they have done this that I know off

It didn't work in my a month a so ago when they had the wine festival as they removed the 2 for £3 deal while it was on.

There's another deal which, like this one, might or might not exist tomorrow. Basically, they give each customer buying 10 of the small bottles a £50 note.

As I say, it might be on, it might not. But it could be.........:p

What's the info on this please?

OP is a heat tart....she'll just keep arguing no matter how many people think this is a non deal until it actually happens.

Just keep spamming it.
