"The most worth buying phone."

Sold amirite?
I'd swear the above is a generic copy-paste from any Chinese retailer's site.

Weren't elephone the people who were supposed to have open sourced their P7000 to the dev community so that support for new Android releases would be ongoing?
I want to buy one of these Chinese phones, but I'm not really sure which to go for.

Looking to spend about 100-140 quid. 2GB RAM minimum. I was looking at the Lenovo K3, but I've gone off Lenovo android devices a bit due to their rubbish support.

Is this the one I should go for? If not, what else is sporting 8 cores, can (hopefully) be bought from as close to the UK as possible, and has 2GB of RAM (oh, a big screen I suppose)?
John try coolicool.com they have EU warehouse

Why must is sport 8 cores? I'm not aware of any software that can use that many. If you are a power user the extra Gb of ram on offer here would be more worthwhile. For a £140 you might stretch to a zenfone which at least has a decent brand supporting it.

All modern software is multi-threaded and will benefit from more hardware threads.

I have the p8000 and can't complain, its quick battery lasts forever, camera is good its solid having dropped it already. Would buy another in a second. £120 for a Samsung s6 spec phone, why spend loads when this is great!!

8 cores are overkill; typically this is 4 fast + 4 slow; most i have seen in use is 2-3 for accelerating (as in a motor car) to get to the corner shop to buy fish + chips. Having more cores is nice - but you wont use them, unless you want your phone to be a pocket warmer. More RAM is critical - 3GB min to avoid apps being killed off as you switch apps.

I think their clock speeds are wrong - 1.3GHz would be correct for the slow cores.

Reminds me of my first pint of beer.
I own the p8000 and can honestly say that its brilliant, i owned the HTC desire then the HTC one,Nexus 4 and then 5 which are now retired i also own the top of the range Zenfone and have been using the p8000 instead of the zenfone. The zen scores 4800 in Antutu which is almost note 4 speed and supposedly has the most powerful GPU their in apart from the Nvidia one. The p8000 score around 3500 the zen has 2x the gpu performance but the p8000 is the one ive been using it handles everything ive thrown at it i tried real racing and it ran that no problem so its good for gaming. I also think that its a beautiful phone and is well made and has a metal shell the battery is unbelievable with it managing 2 days+ with normal use my only complaint is its pretty heavy but when you think its £110 theirs nothing to touch it build and spec wise, its easily rooted aswell. Its fully 4G and the camera is also very good ive just returned from a fortnight in Cyprus where i used the camera for holiday pics. Its great and you wont be disappointed with it but their was a phone posted 2 days back for preorder at £93 which is identical to this spec wise so that may be a alternative but its preorder so you dont know what its like but with the p8000 loads of people own it and its very good, theirs been a few updates to fix issues so al least elephone are trying to keep it usable.

I noticed someone complaining about the p7000 well its done except that they havent released the source code this is not the p7000 and is half the price.

This was taken at night with little light and its done a amazing job

yes, chinese companies seem to nearly all refer to them as TF rather than SD for some reason

Its unbelievable for the money, from someone like me coming from top of the range handsets i can honestly say why the hell have i been spending £500 on phones when things like this are available for a £100. When leaked specs and score came out for the nexus 5x i ran this to compare performance and this scored a little lower in single thread but matched the £350 nexus in multithread performance. I was going to buy the nexus because ive had the previous 2 and loved them but when i saw the specs i was disgusted that google where wanting £350 for a phone that's hardly any better than the 2 year old nexus 5, so ive decided just to keep using the p8000. I have not used my zenfone since i got the p8000 and that is a much faster phone but the p8000 feels way better made and put together over the £250 zenfone, which when i bought it in may cost £300.

Using mine on Tesco same as o2/giffgaff on 4G without issue and its as fast as the zenfone the p8000 supports all UK 4G bands and as i said ive just returned from Cyprus where it worked fine so you shouldn't have any issues.

how do you find the screen
my current moto g is full screen, I understand the p8000 has a black edge surround - does it niggle you its not the full size ?

yes there is a small black edge but i do not notice it...as i said great phone;;;
It's okay I've had mine for a month there are still lots of bugs and elephone a don't seem to bother tooq much fixing them. Bluetooth plays up, phone heats up a lot, small amount of space for apps. There is no 5hz WiFi. And it only runs okay with eragon rom flashed otherwise I would of chucked the phone in the bin. Thing to remember before you buy it the battery lasts three days it's cheap but the camera crashes occasionally but it takes okay pictures if a bit burry. But it is what it is a cheap Chinese mobile with minimal support and all the broken promises with features the presell advised was never there. Don't trust elephone
Bought one of these for my son a few weeks back. Only real complaint is the lack of 5Ghz Wi-Fi. Other than that it's been faultless. Quite tempted to sell my Galaxy Note 4 get one of these and have the extra cash in my pocket.

Spec and build quality is that of a £300+ phone but for £100. Amazing phone for the money.

Thats odd because mine is fine it has none of the issues you are describing my smartwatch is connected via Bluetooth without issue theirs no heating up and i have loads of apps installed the only issue i did have until the last update was when i selected the camera in watsapp it crashed but as i say that been fixed. Do you have a launch phone one that doesn't have the notification light? some of the first batch had issues including no notification light but i have the second batch with the ;light and dont have those issues, i suspect you have a faulty phone.
I have a second batch it seems to be a common fault with the original updated rom when Bluetooth connects to the last device only as for the apps side it's only 16gbs with no apps to sd like I said it is what it is a cheap Chinese phone. I still wouldn't buy another elephone
Had an elephone P3000s...sent it back
Battery life was a few hours ansd the phone overheated all the time and shut itself off
Try the zenfone2.......about £140.

The 16gb is the same for all phones only a few apps can be moved to SD usually but im with you on that their is a issue with installing appps to SD but thats not the phone its Android their is a issue with it, google it but remember that its £100 not £300+

Battery on this is massive and lasts days. As for the Zenfone i have the top 4gb 2.3ghz one and im not using it it has around 20+ useless apps that cant be removed and interfere with the operations of the phone and slow it down massively its the worst bloatware ive ever seen on any phone.

Newbie question on using a dual sim phone.
When someone calls you will it tell you which sim number it is calling?
e.g. if I have a work sim and a private sim, when someone calls will it say calling work sim or calling private sim (or something similar)?

hope that makes sense.

thanks
Hi, I bought Honour 4X from Amazon 4 months ago. Excellent phone but only downside is 8gb internal memory.

Now I am keep on getting messages that my memory is full.

This one has 16gb internal memory so much better.

How will compare this phone with Honour 4X? And as its being delivered from China any customs duty to be paid?

Thanks
bobbi

yes there is a risk of customs dutys
most people dont unless you choose ups or dhl express shipping though.

if worried can get from EU warehouse on link ive posted also, for £140ish with a longer warranty and leather case too
I have it too. Great phone if a little heavy. I love the fact that it treats phone memory and SD card as one memory unlike branded uk phones that wont let you transfer to SD card. Screen is a little delicate for scores so I recommend that you do apply the supplied protector......I didn't and have a bit of a scuff on it.
