Dyson DC40 Animal Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner with Manufacturer's 5 year parts and labour guarantee
2661536-kEO0L

DC40 Animal is a Dyson Ball™ upright vacuum cleaner for powerful all-round dirt and pet hair removal. With Ball™ technology, it has a streamlined machine profile and turns on the spot – steering easily around furniture, obstacles and into difficult places. Specifically besigned for homes with pets.

Its self-adjusting cleaner head maintains optimal contact with every floor type, reducing air leaks and retaining suction power – even on hard floors.

Dyson cyclones capture more dirt than any other. Dc40 animal has radial root cyclone technology with remodelled airways to maximise suction power. Like all dyson vacuum cleaners it doesn't lose suction.

Dyson V6 Animal Cordless Handstick Vacuum Cleaner with Manufacturer's 2 year parts and labour guarantee
2661536-lfwKb

The Dyson V6 Animal Cordless comes with an additional tool specifically designed to remove pet hair from carpets and furniture. It also features a wider motorised cleaner head that is suitable for all floor types. With its digital motor V6, the Dyson vacuum cleaner will give you the exceptional suction power so you can get the job done quickly and effectively.

The dyson v6 animal sucks up as much dust as even a corded vacuum. Its wider motorised cleaner head covers more of every floor type. And it comes equipped with an extra dyson-engineered tool for removing pet hair.

2 tier radial™ cyclones capture the most fine dust.

Can you reserve online? Couldn't see the option
Hmmm it would be so much easier if there wasn't a choice, now I'm sat here trying to decide which one to get and by the time I do it will be out of stock...anyone pipe in with and pros/cons for the dc40 over the v6?

not the animal one
Seems a good price for the animal version but the "standard dc40" seems to be £200 anyway and I can't see any differences between them except one extra attachment?
will john lewis price match?
How long does the battery last? Can it cope with my dogs hair as I have yet to find one that does. I have a cocker spaniel and a Newfoundland plus 4 cats and a parrot.
Hi the Dc40 is brilliant and we still can't believe how much it gets up from the carpet. We also have the v6 which is good for cars and crumbs but nowhere near as much suction as the dc40 and doesn't last that long on full power either. Personally I'd go for the dc40 hope this helps
Just to add to that we have a cocker spaniel and it's brilliant for getting dog hair up
Thanks! Ordered

20 mins on normal use or 6 minutes if you put it on max
We have a DC40 Animal and a v6 Animal, I find the upright stays upstairs and is rarely used, the v6 is the go to vacuum, it's the same in my sons house.

What do you want him to do love? Come round and do the vacuuming for you?
Voted hot, but why have Dyson UK removed the Direct Drive head from the Animal V6 that our American cousins get on the same model: dyson.com/vac…spx

This is only available in the stupidly expensive 'absolute' model in the UK. Bobbins. Basically makes it a regular V6 with a couple of fairly useless attachments.

That's not the animal version which is £285
Is this any good for laminate floors? Or would you need a different attachment?

That's great but it's not the v6 Animal.

And they're still limiting it outside of the ~£400 bundles to one retailer. Not very good for competition.

This is still a good deal, but let's not pretend this model is much better than the vanilla v6, despite the price Dyson (usually) ask for it.
What is difference between dc59 animal (I have)
And this v6 animal. Thanks

The V6 is okay on hard floors but the "fluffy" attachment is much, much better.
A bit off topic here but does anyone know why can't you "compare" vacuum cleaners in the same way you can compare anything else on Argos site? I can compare lighting ect but the button for compare isn't there for vacuum cleaners. A bit annoying
