In 14 days time, Cloud 23 will have a 'sale' going on where you can book afternoon tea for half price for weekdays in January. You can get afternoon tea for as little as £10 per person.

It'd be a nice Christmas present gift and the views can be lovely on a clear day. Who knows, there might even be snow on the Pennines come January! The lift going up to level 23 is almost as fun as the whole experience!! (geek alert)

List of different available types of afternoon teas that they do can be found here - cloud23bar.com/aft…php

Needs to be booked between November 24th and November 30th.

Children under the age of twelve can enjoy Afternoon Tea for half price - waiting to hear back if it will be £5 with this offer for children.

*T&Cs
Reservations must be made in advance, subject to availability. Maximum group bookings, 20 people. Only available until January 31st, 2015. Offer excludes Saturday and Sunday.

Nice tea - horrible building

It's not exactly afternoon tea at the ritz is it!

Okay deal but shame it's mid week - everyone's in work!

Nice deal. Love Cloud 23!

Thanks. Think i'll be looking into this for my mother.

And midweek is perfect for me - she's retired (as are many of her friends) and I will be on maternity leave!

Latest time you can book is 5pm.

Good deal but by the time it comes round to the actual sale, I will of forgotten the dates!

I was really disappointed with the quality of the food when I went. If you want to go because it's the Hilton (or for the view, it is pretty good) then it's a good deal.

Otherwise there are better places for afternoon tea in Manchester city centre. Richmond Tea Rooms for one.

It's well worth a tenner.

Ideal to celebrate a friends birthday in January.

At £10 for a hot drink and a few "fancies" then I guess its an "OK" deal but who on earth has enough money to waste to pay the "normal" price?!!

Quite a lot of people have £20 to spend on things...

Oh I'm sure they do, and I didn't say that no-one had £20 to "spend on things" as you say, but if they have enough money to spend or "WASTE" £20 on a hot drink and a cake, then they are luckier than most then!

It'd better be served by naked wenches for £10

Now Chavs can afford the Hilton!

Horrible building.

Pretentious and no Vegan option. Ice cold!

Pretentious and no vegan option? Mutually exclusive surely? ;-)

afternoon tea for as little as £10 per person

sounds great but at home it cost a bit less, £0.05 I guess? or £0.50 if you want a really expensive one...

You're not going into town and 23 floors up just for the cup of tea though are you?

I honestly think I would prefer to spend £10 in some little tea shop run by people that have their own homemade cakes. Personally I like things to feel real rather than pretentious.

Better view though.

I'm no architectural critic but I think The Hilton in Manchester is a stunning building.

What's with the hate on the Hilton? It's the most ballin building going. You guys can go get your afternoon tea on some peasant place on the ground floor.

The only good thing about this hotel is the view, I come from Manchester and hate the building, I stayed there last year and the room smelt really stale, was informed that this is because none of the windows open and with regard to 'fresh air' only the air con is available to freshen the room up, was going to try Cloud 23 but upon entering the reception at around 10pm on a Friday night was met by a very long queue of 45-55 year old women waiting to get admitted to the bar and they were all dressed like Kym Marsh so we left it!

that sentence made me laugh hahaha!! this is just as I imagined it. I'm from Manchester (don't live there now, but visit lots) and I've never been here, never really wanted to. I prefer rocking out down Oxford road or canal Street haha.

now if the afternoon tea included a cocktail I may be tempted

heat given as this is a good price for those that want it!

I like the building but fully agree with your comments about the accommodation.
Awful tired rooms and low levels of service.
Ridiculously priced breakfast which was very average.
Probably about the right price level for this deal.
They treat Cloud 23 as some "exclusive" venue and have issue's giving access to guest's of the property.

Yes, we ended up in The Salisbury Pub (just behind Oxford Road Station) and have a great night there!
