It's only £8 a month anyway

£8.99

You can probably get the movies on offer for £1 for three months.

Where?

The same pack is only £15 in Curry's/PC World.

And I have the £1 for three months deail.

Good price if you don't want to mess around with cashback:

as it would cost you £36.96 going directly with Now TV receiving £10 cashback so £26.96, so yep this is hot especially if you can get the 30 day free movie trial.

Looking at past HUKD deals it appears that this was 5 months ago. If that it is the case it's a pointless comment. If not, then please share.

I've been keeping an eye out and have not seen that £1 deal since the summer, if it is back I'd love to know as well!

the £15 one in currys is for the box and a 1 day sports pass, the movie pack in currys is £25. i bought the sports pack one yesterday.

This is the normal price for the movie pack-in anyway.

What isn't clear with this is whether the 3 months includes the initial free 30day trial or not? If it's the 30days plus 2 months then you'd be better off buying separately, but if it's a true 3month voucher to use after the 30day trial then it's not too bad......anyone bought one and able to shed some light?

Do you have to sign up when activating? ie Enter direct debit details even though its 3 mth free pass.

whats this thing like, looking to stream, watch movies, is there a monthly charge for using it and can it be hacked?

Good thread here: hotukdeals.com/dea…409

I got the £1 a month for 6 months movies pass with my Now box in August and it's great! Lots of movies. Had a problem with buffering so I changed the screen details on the Now box. Can't remember what I did though, but it seems to buffer less. I don't have a very fast download speed, but I can watch a movie fine with the odd buffer. 4OD and Sky Store coming to Now TV in December.

Just set up Plex on your Mac and stream movies from that to the Now TV box. That's what I've purchased the box for.

Plex works flawelessly on these boxes in my experience, so much so that we are looking to get another, having just opened mail from Tesco I have a £4 off £30 spend too, not really using Tesco now so this may make me visit.

I have a youview box and two of these (£10 each of sky) streaming at the same time on by infinity 38MB And not one problem. Start in about 20 seconds buffering!! Really good. If you want a better box tesco are selling the roku 1 for £40 has hundreds of channels and now tv ( owned by sky)

Ah, sorry - I misread your post and thought you had a Mac. Yeah, with Plex you store your movies etc on your Mac/PC and then stream them from that to the Now TV box.

I have 3 boxes in my house, 2 at my partners and 5 more scattered across the country all streaming out of my plex server in the attic. I have 75/15 speeds on fibre and they work fine, we're yet to see any slowdown at all. Very impressed, although I have converted all my SD content to 1Mb MP4s to aid streaming. I actually did this a long time ago because Virgin has poor upload speeds, kind of wishing I'd gone for 2Mb now.

I'm seriously tempted to get another now as a moving in pressie for a mate.

Would love to know if this could/should replace my Virgin subscription which is going to cost me £44 pm from Feb. Not tech minded at all. Do i need a new tv for this to work? Thanks

Tek-monkey. You should buy another 10 and scatter round the country. Maybe set up some kind of national treasure hunt for em.

It really depends on what you watch on Virgin?

Got the basic package, so basically freeview. Watch BBC, itv,ch4, ch5, Dave and cbbc, nothing wonderful.

You're probably best off then just sticking with Freeview - which I'm presuming your TV will have anyway?

You could get the Now TV box and subscribe to the Movies and/or Entertainment package but I'd go on the Now TV website first and see if anything takes your fancy. The thing is as it's all over the internet you need to make sure that your limit on your internet access is sufficient enough.

Bought the brand new black Now tv box with 6 months entertainment pass for £19. At the Tesco St Neots. What a bargain! Also signed up to a new account which gave me a months free sky movies. My old white box is now in the bedroom. Happy days!
