For a limited time only, Now TV will be offering a 40% discount on its £24.99 movies, entertainment and sport box bundles. The offer applies to new customers and will run over the Black Friday weekend – from Friday 27 November until Monday 30 November.

Customers can choose from three bundles, each one includes a Now TV box (worth £14.99) and free passes to either Sky Movies, Sky Entertainment or Sky Sports channels on a monthly or daily basis.

The Now TV box gives you access to hundreds of hours of Sky programming, without a subscription. To watch Sky content, you'll need to purchase one of three Now TV passes focused around movies, sports and entertainment. After purchasing a pass you'll need to plug the box into your TV using the supplied HDMI cable and wirelessly connect it to your broadband.

The £24.99 movies bundle includes a two month pass to Sky Movies channels. With a huge selection of titles on offer at any time, Sky Movies showcases some of the latest releases along with hundreds of other films to suit all the family. All eleven Sky Movies channels are available through Now TV including Sky Movies Family, Sky Movies Premiere and Sky Movies Comedy.

With the £24.99 entertainment bundle you’ll get three months access to Sky 1, Sky Living, Fox, Comedy Central, MTV, Gold, Sky Artist 1 and the Disney Channel. Now TV is also the only way to watch Sky Atlantic without a Sky TV subscription.

The Sky Movies and Entertainment Passes will renew each month until you cancel, which you can do at any time.

The £24.99 sports bundle lets you watch all seven Sky Sports channels including Sky Sports News HQ, Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports F1 for two separate 24-hour periods. So you only pay for the sports news and coverage you want to watch.

Each time you log into the service, you’ll be notified of time remaining on your pass and if you're watching sports content, you’ll have the option to purchase and activate a new pass.

In addition to passes, you can use the Now TV box to download apps. You can also use it to turn your TV into a smart TV and access sites like Facebook, Spotify and BBC iPlayer.

Apart from 1080p support rather than 720p seems different to me unless your stuck in 2008?
sky's now TV is still broadcast at 720p on the new box
slightly better for Plex with the 1080p support but no difference if only using for now TV. might grab a couple to replace my old white ones as they are used more for Plex.

Seems a lot more responsive to me, especially noticeable on iPlayer. The improved Wi-Fi probably helps a lot as well, haven't had any problems on the new box.
New model has an Ethernet port. Makes a big difference .
It says for new customers only but that seems odd, any ideas?
Great deal - heated
Gigabit and FullHD make it better for Plex and the catch-up services.
I have both boxes, huge difference in performance
Doesn't the new box have USB playback also?
I'll bite at this. Been waiting for the wired version to get cheaper

Heard briefly about these, legal? Reliable? Decent quality?

And future proof or likely to be defunct in a few weeks/months

If all positive any recommendation where to purchase from
It's showing £24.99 everywhere for me - is there a different purchase link to buy through?

Roku BBC iPlayer is way better than the Android version. Also no Now TV app on Amazon so don't get all thw content.

Yes you side load it after activating dev mode. However be aware that although it will play back anything (15GB 1080P mkv's) you may not get any audio as they didn't license all the audio codecs. This is very frustrating as otherwise it would be brilliant. Have read you may get audio if you do it via HDMI pass-through, but none of my devices supported it.

That said the black box is vastly superior to the white one smoother in all the apps and better wifi.

There are plenty of legal channels on Kodi. For example you can watch itv player minus the adverts. Russia today is good and also has on demand shows including documentaries. Now tv is also good if you buy a pass but limited overall as the roku channel store has been curtailed to encourage owners to buy sky passes.
I currently have one of the white boxes in my bedroom and was looking at getting another box for my daughter's bedroom. Just wondering, will the black box be compatible with the white one (can they be linked on the same account)? Also, it says it has an ethernet connection - my computer is downstairs so would not use this bit - would the quality be only as good as the white box if the ethernet connection is not used (just use the HDMI cable)? Don't know whether it is really worth paying out a bit extra for the black one (on Black Friday) if it works no better than the white one (when not using the ethernet) - any ideas about this please? Thank you.
I won't bother I'm happy with the 3 old boxes I got other week for £9.99 each from currys, saving £5 x 3 = £15, will see me through next 6 months for entertainment pass and 2 months of movies.
Genuinely right now I'd say the single most encompassing box available at the minute is the full Roku box. Netflix, Amazon, Now Tv, Iplayer, ITV player, All4, 5od and Plex.

I thought I'd read somewhere that the uk roku box doesn't allow Amazon streaming?
Price needs altering to £14.99 please op. As £24.99 is the original price not the price with 40% off. Thanks

Don't forget to use your 14 day free trial first

Don't forget to go via quidco / topcashback and not a random referral link...
Typical, only for new customers.... why do they get all the good deals?
I wouldn't mind this deal (I need a second Now TV box).

Use Gmail - you can add keywords to your address (for filtering purposes) that appear as a different email address to most mail systems.
i.e. dorito+NowTV1@gmail.com, dorito+NowTV2@gmail.com, etc will all get delivered to dorito@gmail.com but NowTV will see them as different accounts.
Likewise, you can have a perpetual Amazon Prime trial (dorito+Amazon1@gmail.com, etc).

That WAS the case up until about 3 weeks ago mate but it's there now.

The Universal Search function only covers Netflix and recently Amazon though out the major services, so when you consider Amazon was only put on there less than a month back then having a "Universal" search that only functioned for Netflix wasn't much of a selling point in the UK. It's also a similar situation for the "my feed" feature by all accounts. Still a good box though, and one of the only streaming devices out there with ALL the major streaming services available to it.

I assumed from this thread it would be available everywhere, and since sainsburys are selling it for £14.99 it should be same in amazon/tesco/argos.

Since the last update to iPlayer, it's become a little bit sluggish and prone to locking up. The other services are still fine though. I'm going to get the new one, especially with 40% off, then save the entertainment pass for Game of Thrones.
