NOW TV Box + 5 months Sky Movies Month Pass £34.99 @ Now TV

58
Found 24th Dec 2013
Seeing as the WD TV Play box is £37.81 on its own, this seems like a really good deal, especially with 5 months of sky movies and then the free trials of Lovefilm and Netflix, this should sort me out for most of the year.

Think I will get one for me olds too!

Here are the highlights:

* NOW TV Box
* 5 months Sky Movies Month Pass - current sky movie listings here skymovies.sky.com/sky…ngs
* UNLIMITED access to the latest movies you missed at the cinema
* Over 800 movies on demand and 16 new premieres added every month
* Possible £2 off from Quidco, making it £32.99 quidco.com/now…?ac , thanks veralum

Thanks man, I just bought two and didn't see this, doh!

these in store at tesco cov were only £24.99 on monday

Alternatively - buy the box from Tesco or Currys for 25 quid with 3 months Movies trial..There could be some vouchers for Tesco Direct around so check it before you buy.
Then subscribe via these links (the first one gives you 20 quid voucher for TopShop, the second - for M&S).

nowtv.com/pro…rks

The first month is free. Then you'll pay 8.99 for second month (you have to do it to be eligible for 20 quid voucher).
Then, after you've paid for your subscription once, add 3 months voucher from NowTV box.

As a result you'll get 5 months of Sky Movies and NowTV box for 14 quid (25 - 20 + 9).

Note that there is also another way to get it cheap without paying for 1 month subscription but I am not sure whether the promotion is still valid or not. These links will give you 10 quid voucher just for subscribing (no need to pay).

Then you'll have 4 months Sky Movies + the box for 15 quid (25 - 10),

The one in Argos for £25 seems to give 4 months of films, 1 month with the box and a free 3 month trial. No messing with promo codes either.

I see a box for £24.99 with 3 months of movies then the usual £8.99 pm. argos.co.uk/sta…htm

And after reading a question on the item page it seems the 30 day free trial forms part of the 3month pass. So if you let the 30 day free trial run, then use the 3 month scratch card - you will only get an extra 2 months.

Well the Argos website says it includes a 3 month movie pass. But doesn't mention the 30 day trial. I guess before it did say 30 day trial and 3 month pass so it would've been unfair - hence someone asked the question on the item page and they must've updated the info.

These are in Argos for £25

It is not. There has been a very lengthy discussion on NowTV forum about this and the answer is that if you not entering voucher number when subscribing then you get your first month free. Then, just before the trial month expires you need to claim the voucher and thus getting another 3 months.
You can ask NowTV Live chat directly if you still not convinced.

I was just stating what was on the Argos page. I'm couldn't care less. But those wishing to purchase may want to check your advice first. Thanks for sharing the info

Good deal (when you think how much Sky TV customers pay). I wish this box had access to Netflix though.

I tend to get a new subscription to Sky every 12 months but I think once my half price for a year subscription is up, I may be tempted to use a combination of YouView, Netflix and watch Sky content with Now TV. You probably can get away with subscribing on and off for three months at a time and get to see all the content you want without paying for a full year.

Does the nowtv box support netflix?

Movies are free buddy.

Description mentions Netflix and Lovefilm - you can't get either on this can you?

No. Although this is a Roku box, it's customised by Sky and does not currently feature Netflix.

Correct - neither is currently available on the NowTV box. I'm not sure if the OP is simply describing how they will watch movies using different services (i.e. on different devices) or whether they believe the box has Netflix and LoveFilm.

No YouTube.

No Netflix, Lovefilm, Blinkbox and the like. This is Roku box customized for Sky, exactly as dvs said.
It can be hacked though so you can use Plex with it.
Lots of info here:

Actually you can install Netflix/Lovefilm etc through Plex apps.
You can install Plex by following Kommunist's link (http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/now-tv-box-10-inc-1615409)

I literally bought one of these boxes the other day, installed Plex in 5 minutes and now watch Lovefilm through it. It's very simple and definitely worth the £10 I paid for the box.

If you need any help setting it up, just shout!

Let me know! Very easy to do.
This is the tutorial I followed: automatedhome.co.uk/av-…tml

Using Plex is pretty simple too, just go through their tutorials

If you install Plex, can you still acces Iplayer, 4oD, Demand 5 through the standard Now TV interface?

Can all these catchup services be installed through Plex? For example.... ITV Player?

Installing Plex doesn't change anything, it just adds the app to your homescreen (like it would for roku).
You can look through Plex channels, but at first glance it does look possible to install ITV player through Plex

I noticed that when I installed Plex, it comes up with trial version, do you have to pay anything for this? and if so, how much is it? also, with plex, apart from being able to transfer your media from your pc to the nowtv box, what else can plex do? sorry for the questions, but i only quickly installed it last night.

Am I right thinking this is on your computer?
plex.tv/dow…ads

You need to download the media server, not the home theatre.
Then once it's installed it will open the server and you can add everything.
