This is the standard now tv box with 4 month entertainment pass for £19.99. Inside my box I also had a sky store £5.49 rent a movie voucher.

This is a good deal considering the standard entertainment month is £7.99

With a Now TV account you can have (don't quote me) four devices and use two of them at the same time. I have a box upstairs, a box downstairs, laptop and mobile phone as my registered Now TV devices.

As for the deal, for an extra £1.71 you could get two Now TV boxes, 2 x 2 months entertainment voucher and 2 x £5.49 sky store voucher from shopto

Not sure why you buy this older inferior box for £19.99 when the much better smart box is the same price in Argos at the moment (albeit with one month less on the voucher).

Does anyone know if I buy one of these if I'll be able to log in on my xbox with my account as having a separate box and controller from my Netflix and amazon etc is silly

Yes, if your Xbox has the NowTV app, you can log into the app & watch on that, so you don't need a separate NowTV box, unless you want to use the box in another part of the house.

Initially, creating an account online via a browser is probably easier though: nowtv.com/

Agreed Shopto is much better deal and very fast free post
I've got so many old and new boxes stacked up. eBay them off from time to time.

pauses and rewinds live tv as well (no recording though) faster processor and stuff I guess too.

The Freeview is poor - no direct entry of channel numbers (a lot of up arrowing to get to the HD services), no 7 day EPG (now/next only) and channels just vanish every so often requiring a retune. I was not impressed.
I've not used one but the fact it even has freeview hd over the other box makes it a no brainer.
Id recommend getting the smart box version which is actually cheaper.
Cheers, just what I’ve been after as my entertainment pass ends in January.
Argos annoys me ........ I appreciate none for collection, but also none for delivery !!!!!!!

... in that case the new box (with 3 months subsctiption) is a much better deal than is this one (so in comparison this is not a hot deal, but the new box is).

Because not everyone wants a box....?

I use roku boxes because I use Netflix, Amazon video, Now tv and Plex.... The boxes are useless to me, but I get them for the passes, then either eBay or CEX the boxes.
fair comment, but a 4 month pass for £20 isn't that cheap is it? Just normal price really. i guess you might get a fiver back for the box.
Anyway, the point of my original post was that if you wanted a box, the better one was available for the same price
I don't think I would use the features of the newer box, I've already got other devices that do what it does, and probably better. So I've been perfectly happy buying the older box and taking the extra month. Heat added.
Can I transfer the account to a Samsung tv that has Now TV?

My Brother bought me a Now TV box for xmas and I don't want to duplicate what the tv already has.
the same account can be registered on 4 different devices at any one time and used on 2 at the same time so you can just log in.

I actually ordered 2 new smart boxes from this deal, (still available, don't know why it's expired) So 2 of the newer boxes and 6 months of passes for £34 delivered.

Would this be better than the £99 for both entertainment and movie offer for 12 months?

To be honest I've just used my first ever entertainment pass, usually just have movies. I don't rate it at, maybe I just need to delve deeper when I have more time, but at the minute I won't bother again. I'll stick to the movie pass deals. And yes, if you're after a box, the new ones are definitely better!
I remember when these used to come with 6 months of Entertainment. Typical Sky price hikes.
Yep, this time last year boxes with 6 month passes were £20. We use them as my daughter can have a box in her room and then get the sky channels without the expense of a sky contract or multi room. Also my mum who lives 200 miles away has a box and uses my account.

It appears that if the product isn't in stock in any of the Argos' in your local area then delivery isn't available. I tried with my postcode, no collection as it wasn't in stock in any local stores and delivery also wasn't available BUT when I tried a London postcode and also an Inverness postcode, both collection and delivery were available because some of those local stores did have stock.
Usually you can pick up three month entertainment passes for under a tenner. So unless you need the hardware it’s pointless to keep buying the boxes.

Also if you can add a pass now they are going for just under £6. As they are due to expire.
I added a cheap one in November so can't seem to take advantage of any of those as the all say if you have used one since August?

Also you can flog the boxes for approx £25 and get a few quid for the store vouchers as well.
What i don't understand is that ex sky customers would have a dish installed and might be leaving sky. So whats the box its freeview. Lmao why is it not freesat?

Same as youview its freeview. What is the obsession with freeview? Before it had more channels. But this not true anymore as freesat has dave etc...

Freesat has more capacity might be enough to have a few 4k channels half of freeviews space is being sold for 4g. Until youview or the nowtv smart box goes freesat then i am not interested.

Sky might install your dish for free but there is no one to install your aerial for free! Anyone know if its been suggested to sky to have a freesat smart box
Poor deal. You can get the way better smart box with a 3 month entertainment pass and the sky store voucher for the same price from Argos. Cold from me.
Just play Snatch and get nowtv for free
Everyone seems to win a 2 month pass for signing upto snatch but after that you may as well just buy the cheap codes from eBay. Let other people waste time on a game/app and just buy the codes from them.
