This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Now TV Super Fibre (63Mb average speed) FTTC broadband is available with £85 cashback from TCB. There's a £5 delivery fee (for the router), but no activation cost, and it's only a 12 month contract (most broadband providers are 18/24 months) making the cost effectively £15.34 per month.

Virgin Media offer some higher speeds but their deals are dependent on receiving vouchers rather than pure cashback (and you of course have the gauntlet of VM customer services to run), the 12 month contract here is attractive IMO and only one other FTTC provider (onestream) gets near to the same price with new customer incentives for a 60-70Mb service.

Additionally, payment can be taken by card, if you have a Chase debit card with the 1% cashback active, you may well be able to bring the overall contract cost down to an effective £15.12 per month.

Broadband Prices may rise mid contract

There is a risk broadband providers can increase prices mid-contract, Usually tied the CPI (Consumer Prices Index) but whether you can escape paying these higher prices depends on the circumstances. You should be notified by said provider on both counts with further information as and when this occurs.

Please keep this in mind, when signing up to a new contract.

I took this out about a month ago - it took two weeks to get an engineer appointment and the poor dude had a nightmare as my house is a new-build, but after 4-5 hours he sorted it out!

I pay £21 PCM, but got the £85 cashback from TCB. Paid £5 for the router (took a while to come mind!). I also got free anytime calls to UK landlines, mobiles etc for the first 12 months! Free line rental! And a 12 month contract!

My house is 3-storey, have the router on the ground floor and the internet works perfectly throughout the entire house. Called their CS a couple of times - all based in the UK it would seem and I didn’t even hear the phone ring when I called, immediately picked up! They were really helpful too.

The only thing I’m a bit miffed about is the fact the fibre runs to the green box down the road and it doesn’t run to the house. I called them about it and they said they don’t offer fibre to the house, only to the green boxes apparently? I asked if an engineer could come out (as per the OpenReach engineer) but they said they don’t do this; other suppliers do but NOW don’t. Dunno what difference it really makes but mine works perfectly!

I also got the BT quad pack of landlines that were on here for £39.99! With TCB they worked out just over £35 for 4 phones!

If you still have the BT router you should be able to use that by plugging into the now one and disabling dchp. You can also then turn off the wireless on the now box.
I have this and the router range seems fine, a lot better than a Vodafone router I had before.
It's not a very customisable router though, ie you can't change DNS servers on it.

    Not in my experience.

Used to have 51mbps now dropped to 36-40, they claim I'm getting 44 which I definitely aren't and won't do anything about it.

    Does this Include a landline?

Yes, it includes line rental. One of the few providers who do include it, I believe.

Assume you are a TCB plus member? I am not so was not aware of that cashback uplift, but makes the deal an additional £1.25 a month cheaper for those with a TCB plus membership.

I guess its even worth considering joining TCB plus just for the deal, as it would cost you £5 but save an extra £15, leaving you a tenner better off overall... In fact if that and the Chase 1% thing works, you could potentially pay as little as £13.87 effective p/m if you have the TCB plus already. (edited)

You're right, I got anytime calls included in mine when I signed up. When the contract ended they said they'd just leave me on the deal I was on, so I retained the anytime calls. On my bill I see it for £8 but then there's a -£8 to cancel it out. It's recently gone up to £24pm overall for me, but I'm not complaining about an extra £2.

yep, always included anytime free of charge before...need to watch this when my current now bb deal runs out, might have to switch out for a year and then back in to take advantage of the topcashback if they won't extend the current deal to include anytime calls

Might be worth waiting to see if there any any Jubilee/Holiday deals, although it’s likely you may miss out on this one with no guarantees of anything better coming along…

They definitely were, I remember seeing them whilst looking for my parents, wish I'd sorted it for them now as they wanted anytime calls

It only runs to the green cab as it's fttc as you mentioned, not fttp which you can't get from Now at the moment, but maybe they will do in future. Fttp provides faster speeds, that's about it. And no copper line rental.

I use a Draytek 2860 which acheives same speed as supplied router (and more secure as far as i am concerned) bit of a faff to set up but has worked flawlessly for months

I’ll probably go for this. Been looking at the broadband market last week as my current expires soon. Been with plusnet for about 8 years and they’ve been good, stable, fast and cheap, but I can’t ignore this package price especially with the cashback.

Funny how they want to gouge customers, when all the mobile operators offering unlimited minutes and texts on ANY, and even the cheapest plan, yet landlines are increasing such charges. BT/Openreach twisting their arms? Or has greed taken over the entire psyche of such operators ? It was inclusive till last month (april). WHat has changed for them to suddenly introduce such penal costs? Given that everyone is moving into VOIP based calling, incl. the big daddy, BT ! Surely, their costs are coming down due to this switchover, YET.

No wonder people will use less and less of landline calls.

Killing the goose that lays the proverbial golden eggs.

Does anyone know how long it takes from old contract elapsing to being classed as a ‘new customer’?

Tried to sign up yesterday, but the online registration doesn't allow you to specify a start date. As a result I can't order online for a few more weeks as my current broadband contract doesn't expire until the end of July.
    Avatar
Unlike other providers, unfortunately you can't choose the activation day, which is fixed to 10 working days after the registration.

I ported my BT number out to a VOIP provider, and now I don't have a copper phone line, and the cost of my phone service is just a few quid a month, and includes caller and other features which BT would have cost extra for.

So the short answer: it doesn't matter, you can escape the clutches of BT expensive phone service. (edited)

I know it may be a bit of a strange question but do you find the router to have good range please and also would you know if the router can have split channels please (Plusnet and BT's new one can't) as my children's tablets wouldn't work on my BT Hub before I split the channels.

    You can split the channels.
But the router they give you doesn't seem to have a good range, according to many.

Same with my experience, my router broke after something fell on it and the woman I got on the phone was really helpful, she ordered me a new router without any fuss the whole phone call lasted probably about 3 mins and she fixed the problem by ordering a replacement router, they also phoned me back a week later to make sure everything has been solved, Newcastle accent too

i disagree with people saying the router reaches all parts of the house. the router is like a rebranded cheap sky routers that are junk i just got a decent tp link one and used that instead.

this is 'Fibre to the Cabinet' - so from the green box in the street to your house it uses copper, which causes signal degradation based on distance, cable condition and even environmental conditions. not perfect, but I think the 63Mb average claimed is more than enough for most households... I had a household of 7, with many many connected devices, running off a similar line during lockdown and we managed to avoid killing each other

I'm coming to a year-end on my NOW broadband after the last deal here (£100 TCB) paying £22 a month.

they sent an email saing i will be paying the same after the contract ends. Not sure wether to change top stay now!

I was having probems with wifi then i got the sky router off ebay and that helped remdy some proboems with the wifi. (edited)

Router is pretty average but I got a TP link one off eBay for under £30 and use that.

Not a bad deal but not that long ago I signed up at £20 a month with anytime calls and £80 Quidco (which is taking ages to be paid).

Sync speed is equal to or better than previous BT Broadband.

Ordered about a fortnight ago at £21 per month, via TopCashback Plus, £100 tracked.
    Installed last week all good.

Using TP-Link Archer VR400 modem router, as recommended by others. Even the BT engineer acknowledged that the provided Now TV modem router isn't so great.

P.S. I needed to position the router further away from the master socket for improved WiFi range. On recommendation from others I used a good quality 10m Cat5 RJ11 - RJ11 cable from RGB Networks. I can confirm this did not impact the sync speed. Happy Days. (edited)

Thanks for this. Did it track initially as £80 and then jumped to £100 later on? My ordered tracked at £80 but says 'pending uplift'
