NOW TV Smart Box + 3 Month Entertainment £10 instore @ Currys

Only in store but managed to walk away today with a NOW TV box with 3 months entertainment for just a tenner! Person serving said the deal was national but you have to buy the box with any other item in store to do it for £10

Also the £15 for 3 month passes have been reduced in store to £5!!

Crazy money considering you can get a whole year of NOW TV entertainment for under £25 and the best box going with freeview built in.

I just went to Currys but they're closed! What sort of shambolic business …I just went to Currys but they're closed! What sort of shambolic business are they running there?

Probably something similar to the shambolic Christmas dinner that'll be served at my house because I'm browsing this site instead of preparing veg.

Is this legit? Can we see receipt please
Sounds like the deal for on last year - but a box and passes and you meet the additional purchase requirement . Excellent deal for the year. I would think Movies will be slightly more expensive for 12 months?

Hmm sounds like the one from last year but not with all the complex codes
Will try on boxing day
This is a cracking deal for the smart box
Maybe you ought to amend the post so it says , With any other purchase? Otherwise it’s a bit misleading. Good deal though!

Tesco's are it it too - buy for £10 with a telly

I was told this morning the boxes are £25 on their own or £10 when bought with a tv and the cards are £5 if bought with a now tv box do managed to get the smart box at £25 and the cards at £5 each. To be fair, I saw the screen and the box had a WBW beside it indicating a when bought with offer. Had to mention the offer on the cards at the till though otherwise they don't check and they charge full price.

Looks like the OPr got lucky without buying the telly!

It's a shame but you've saved me a trip...

Yep...in the store now....deal requires you to buy a TV
Guess I was lucky... maybe they were feeling generous being Christmas and all!! Still worth a shot cos it is possible if you get the right person willing to do it without tv... or buy tv and refund it
Definitely a lucky dip with the member of staff. Used to be a really nice guy who used to let me use the WBW offer and buy 2 nowtv boxes (old version) for £20. But unfortunately he doesn't work at that branch no more. I've not seen the £15 card offer before so thought I'd give it a shot and hey presto it worked mainly because the young lady who served me was very nice and helpful
But definitely worth a try.... thanks op

This offer worked for me today. It does seem to be the luck of the draw but I did a test purchase of one smart box plus one separate three-month (£15 face value) entertainment pass and they went through as £10 for the box and £5 for the pass.

I then bought a second smart box, half a dozen two-month (£15 face value) movie passes and a few more entertainment passes. Again, the box went through for £10 and each pass went through as £5.

I'm not sure whether the till was automatically applying these discounts or the till operator was applying an override.

Felt as though I ought to have been wearing a mask!

In summary, to get either offer to work, you must buy at least one box with at least one £15-face-value pass. So the box (which has a £15 pass inside as well) costs £10 and then each additional pass costs £5. I got a year's worth of movie passes (6x2-month passes) for £35, a year's worth of entertainment passes for £25 and a few other movie and entertainment passes for relatives at £5 each. Oh, and two smart boxes (I'll use one and give one to my dad).

EDIT: AND bundled with each smart box was a voucher for one free £5.49 movie from Sky Store!
Each voucher is supposedly valid for a year from the date of purchase so I would advise against buying more than a year's worth per Now TV account.

To the OP, thank you very much.

I think I'll give it a ago tomorrow and see what happens
worth a punt. I had to tell the cashier about the WBW otherwise she was gonna charge me full price
I tries today in store and even though I showed them this trail they refused the offer as valid

keep the passes and return the box lol
I just used the Jedi mind trick in Coventry and managed to pick one up with an extra 2 months movies for a whopping £10
choose your till assistant wisely. Merry Christmas and thanks OP

Just to report back trying to keep a straight face whilst I type...

Picked up a box and two £15 passes, went to the till to be told £54.99!!! So queried to say aren't the passes £5 with the 'when bought with...' and dropped the hint the that box should be £10....so to my delight the young lady messed about with the till and presto... Box £10 and passes for £5 each!

So I took my chance and had another go with another box and two passes same operator and same price!

Thanks op!

Result.

Went back yesterday and tried again - well...ok, I more or less told the lady what to do... . I got box and 6 enterainment passes for £40!

Perfect timing as in the process of moving house so no services installed yet and seems no aerial available. Worked perfectly fine tethered to my phone and via my old ps3.

Was about to order the Virgin VIP package for £88/12 months with £80 quidco but will probably downgrade to the the full house package now and use these boxes instead.

Might do one more run to get one for the spare bedroom...

Thank you!

Hasn't mattered to me in the past! Just ring them up and they'll refresh it and give you a new code. Had a 2 year old one. They asked where I'd got it and I said with a Now TV box from Tesco. He agreed it hadn't been used and issued a new one to me.
Can you not load a few at a time so to accumulate the subscription period?

Is it a bit pointless purchasing four 3 month passes then?

You can add a pass when the current pass has 30 days or less remaining and passes usually carry a 12 month validity period.
Will give this a try tomorrow..
No joy for me

Is this still valid?
No joy in the Watford store today. The pass was reduced to £5 with the WBW code but the box was £24.99. I showed the lady the receipt posted here and she tried the WBW code against the box but said it would not let her apply it, She said maybe the offer has finished.
Edited by: "susancs" 29th Dec 2017
yeah, same here. Assistant showed me the screen and the button for 'customer offers' was greyed out and he couldn't click it. he said he would have if he could. I went for the qvc offer, 2 boxes for £34 delivered but only 6 months vouchers.
I checked instore today and this offer didn’t come up unfortunately.
