Allegedly the freeviewHD is processed badly by the box and is worse than direct into the TV.

Which is nice.

Not in my experience, picture quality on a par with the TV. However, the EPG is flawed - no 7 day guide (now/next only), no channel numbering and no favourites - so a lot of PageDown needed to get to the HD services.

Had 2 of these boxes go wrong in the last month.

The first would only lock to one live channel, if you tried to change channel it just said 'No signal' on all the others and needed a reset to find them again, and then it would start the process again! It worked fine on all the streaming services.

The second would randomly display a line of junk at the top of the screen and then reset itself! It could take up to 20 minutes to restart! I'm guessing a faulty memory chip?

Waiting for Sainsburys to get more in from a new batch so I can swap out the second. . .

Sounds like a good idea to wait for a second version before upgrading to one of these.

Anyone who has used this and a YouView box (that you get with BT or Talktalk) - which is better?

Just been told (by Sainsbury's!) that this model is now discontinued!
