Serious question, could I buy 12 of these? And still be using the passes 2-3 years later or would now TV be awkward and they would not be valid

I'm sure theyll have an expiry date so when you try to use them theyll say expired. But you can always go on live chat and tell them its expired and theyll give you a new code

I'm not sure about 2-3 years, Now TV live chat will reactivate passes purchased from authorised stockists that don't work / have expired providing they have been purchased in the last 12 months. With this in mind I've got 4 of these at the moment (3 from B&M and 1 from PC World) for use later on in the year. They work out cheaper than the 3 months for £49.99 PC World deal, if your planning to sell the sticks to Cex for £7 cash or a £10 voucher, and they don't have to be used immediately after one another either.

Not unless you want to sell the sticks, you would be better with 4 of the 3 months Sports packs for £49.99 each. You can sell the sticks on eBay etc, but hardly worth the bother after fees and postage, not sure what CEX pay for them at the moment.

Cex are £7 cash or a £10 voucher, so potentially cheaper than the 3 months for £49.99 deal if you are planning to sell the sticks to them.

The passes are loaded onto the sticks and I don't think you can load more than 1 pass into the future (i don't think you could apply all 12 passes onto your account at once) so I don't think you could sell all the sticks in 1 go but there may be ways around it. One other advantage of having 12 passes is that you could take a break in between applying passes if there is nothing of interest on, you could only do that every 3 months with the 3 month pass.

Can you not apply the pass to an xbox for example and sell the stick?

Do you not get a stick + voucher separate in the box?
They stopped paper scratch vouchers a good while ago, everything is activated on the stick. Yes you can apply a pass then sell the stick, but you can only apply another monthly pass when your into the last month of your current pass, so can't apply 12 all at once (as far as I know anyway).

Appreciate the help!
Is easy or is it possible to sideload apps on these sticks? A look on the net seems to give conflicting results. Thanks.
so works out a tenner if you trade the stick in at CEX later, not bad for a month. tempted
They're selling them at B&Ms for £20,they've also got the mini boxes for £25 with 1 day sports pass and a month of Ent, Mov and Kids,or something similar.

When I try to pay it reverts back to full price. Is anyone else having the same problem?
Does anyone know if this deal would be honoured in-store? Or do we have order it online to get the discount?

But once it's activated you can then watch via another device, right? The "code" must be associated with an account so you might have to start watching on the stick but then be able to switch to your preferred device (Xbox, web player, tablet etc.). Hope someone can clarify this.

Yea that rite once activated on account stays with you

You activate via the stick but then sign in to whatever nowtvaccount you want the voucher applied to.

You ONLY need the stick for initial activation of sky sports, then you can use it on whatever account be it Xbox, Roku, PC ..etc
I only used the stick provided for 5mins to activate the voucher and am now using the 3 month sky pass on an old Black Roku NowTV Box (It has Ethernet) and a PC. The stick is back in the box now.

As long as the TV has got a HDMI port, yes. USB can be used to power it, but it can also be powered using the supplied electric plug.

No it's an online code. I've applied the code and paid online in the past, then collected it from my local store using their click and collect service, if that helps.

I had this once with the cinema/movies pass, I had forgotten about one that was about a year old, came to use it and it wouldn't work, the on line chat people were very helpful and gave me a new code but I got the impression they wouldn't want me doing that all the time !
I would suggest buying maybe 6 months worth of these but probably no more... deals come up all the time anyway so buy some now and more later in the year on the next deal.
**edit - ignore me if its true that the voucher is pre loaded on the stick, not a paper one any more **

Standard Now TV is 720P but its at a decent bitrate and it perfectly watchable but 25fps can be a problem for fast moving sports. Pay £3 extra for 1080P and 5.1 sound across all your passes, picture is very good and pretty much on par with Freeview HD or Sky HD via satellite, Main Event and Premier Football channels in 50fps and some channels are still 25fps. No 4K service from Now TV and in my opinion it will be a good while yet before we see this as Sky need to keep some premium features to keep folk contracted to their satellite service. Now TV make a 4K box but it's only for Netflix, etc.

The voucher is preloaded on the stick, and is automatically applied to your account at the end of it's installation processes. As far as I can tell it has no expirey date, but if the purchaser does have any difficulties accessing the pass in this regard, then live chat is the best courses of action as you have suggested.

No, Now TV pushed a firmware update on all their devices a couple of years ago which disabled this feature.
