Now TV in 4k? I'm surprised they actually got 1080p, they've had bloody 720p for years
Edited by: "Toon_army" 26th Nov 2019
I don't think 4k just 1080 for £3 extra a month

It's not, it's just the box that is 4k. The mods have changed the title.

Ahhh, I was a little shocked there, like I say they've had 720p for bloody years. Mind I dont mind 720p but it's always nice to have the latest resolution

720p is fine on a 32 inch, on anything bigger the £3 a month upgrade to 1080p would be a good idea. It's taken years and loads of broken promises/missed deadlines to get a 1080p option, so I can't see them going 4K any time soon. It would probably impact too much on their satalite subsciption sales.

Playing about I noticed films stay in native 3840 x 2160 so the TV/ box is upscaling and the picture looks great on modern films.

Nope just the box but still cheaper than this overall as it was the 4k box aswell

32" I think anything would look good that small lol. I've got a 100" projector and tbh the stuff on the entertainment pass looks fine. I've been watching a few things like Ray Donovan, Brassic, Britiains Worst Killers and look good. Obviously we always want better quality but it'll so me, I'm only really fussy about films

It depends on the distance you sit from the screen.

The passes are where the value in these deals. I buy bundles like this and am quids in after selling the box (or stick) they come with on Ebay or too Cex.

Entertainment pass you can get for free. Movies tou can maybe get for a fiver. Kids a fiver. Day pass is useless imo. So passes worth a tenner altogether? So mine wouldve cost 15 included box.

Now TV Smart Boxes average £20 without passes in auctions on Ebay, you can occasionally get entertainment passes for free but I also sometimes have to pay £10 for two months, movies are £11.99 and you rarely see them discounted as low as a £5 (although you can get free months from McDonalds Monopoly, Kids is £3.99 a month (and you rarely see them discounted at all (other than McDonalds Monopoly), Sports day passes come in handy for when you just want to watch a particular event.

I get most of my passes for free via McDonalds Monopoly or from freebies like the current B&M entertainment pass. Deals like this however come in handy between January and late March when you can't redeem McDonalds passes, especially if (like me) you rarely get retention offers direct form Now TV (I think they have wised up to how little I pay), If you sell the box for £20, you are effectively getting 4 passes for £4. I've also been stockpiling the £15 Now TV HD Sticks with a month Sky sports pass, to effectively get a month of sports when I want for well under £10 (£8 if you sell the stick to Cex, normally less if you sell them on Ebay).
