Just in case you didn't know, if you press the fast forward/rewind buttons it's does a page up/down when searching channels. Still not very good but slightly better then using the up/down buttons.

£10 at currys instore

The offer is based on purchasing a TV - read the thread yesterday
Just bought one yday from Argos
Apart from the pause and rewind live tv facility are there any other advantages of owning the new box over the old box? Thanks
Although this is not £10 like in curry's, at least this is not wild goose chase and actually a very good deal. Heat from me!
Would this be ok for in the bedroom or does it make a noise when on standby, eg fan etc.
I just wish it came with a better remote control, one with number buttons on it.

May be worth pointing out that you should avoid having electronic devices plugged in in the bedroom. They all emit a low level amount of radiation which you absorb while sleeping.

I know that sounds a bit tinfoil hat, but I used to work for a security firm that would ankle tag offenders on curfew.
We would never install the electronic monitoring box in their bedroom for this reason.
Good find

Yes, this comes with all the FreeView channels as well (over 60 of them, plus 12 in HD), although it does need to be connected to a suitable digital aerial to get them.
Now TV please add subtitles to your entertainment series. Cold from me for NOW TV.
Heat, ordered 2, will sell one of the boxes on gumtree

That's why I stopped using NowTV. For years there have been requests to have subtitles but they refuse to budge. I use Amazon TV & iPlayer now.
I got a free sky store film voucher for £5.50 in the box too.
So many people would benefit ( and save loads ) if they tried these boxes and saved a small fortune of subscription costs with sky or virgin. The picture quality is fantastic nowadays. A great alternative to costly satellite / cable TV packages and then you can get a decent and far cheaper phone and broadband package elsewhere
Our entertainment ends in May, we had a box which included 6 months entertainment.
How far ahead do you think is safe to have the unused passes for?

Hi Shalton, passes are officially valid for 12 months from purchase, but how do they know when it was bought...? I've only ever had an issue once when applying a pass, five minutes on their on-line chat got that sorted

Yeah but then once everyone moves over and cancels their sky subscriptions they'll end up increasing the costs of the Now TV packages and loosing all the offers that we currently enjoy, I fear those that still have sky boxes are currently subsidising us :-)
OK. Cheers.
Thank you

Probably good advice, but with a TV, two receivers, phone & wi fi I guess I glow in the dark. Yours Glowingly.

That offers a question in itself. We take leaving a mobile in the bedroom for granted, but do you really need it to be handy while you're asleep? At head height on a bedside table, within about a metre from your head?!

Phone radiation varies by model. I knew a guy who kept his mobile resting between his legs while driving hundreds of miles to DJ gigs. He developed a funny bruise around the crotch area. His doc asked him if he planned to have any more children, or was ok with potentially going sterile. True story!

The more devices are left turned on in your bedroom though, and the amount of radiation accumulates. I'd be keeping it to a minimum.

Yes, Definitely will go back to Netflix or Amazon after my now TV deal end, bought 4 month entertainment pass and 2 boxes to watch the Walking Dead all seasons, all the previous seasons got removed after I finished season 2, unlucky, they don't have subtitles on their series, still have 2 and a half entertainment pass left, can't wait for it to end. However, the Movie Pass seems OK, more Movies than Netflix and Amazon I think, they have subtitles, but the subtitles style is awful, they are not transparent subtitles, very low tech.

Yes, but that's only for the streaming content & catch-up services (although it does have a Wi-Fi option too).
