Unlike the £14.99 deal which includes a Sky Sports Day Pass, this deal here has a whole month of Sport included that you can use during one of the cold winter months! That's all 11 Sky Sports Channels!

As the Sky Sports Month Pass alone costs about £25 at the moment, that makes this a bargain IMO.

You can still pick up free trials of Sky Cinema and Sky Entertainment quite easily.

Argos, JL and Currys will most likely follow suit with the price...

Treat yourself, or treat the sports lover in your life!

You're welcome! I think it's pretty watchable these days on the mobile pass, but much better to have the bigger screen experience!
Is it a code in the box that can be put on top of a current subscription does anyone know? I added 3 months of sky sports to mine yesterday!
Can you watch the darts on Sky Sports via this package?
If you want one month of Entertainment for £3.64.

I've still got a spare 1 month Entertainment pass from the B+M offer that can be had for free if anyone's interested.

Not sure if that deal is still live?

First person to come back can have it

Always the way! If i remember right from when i set one up last year, it's preinstalled on the stick.

Not sure if you set up the new Stick logging into your existing account when you set it up and have the free month added that way.

But I know for sure you don't have to redeem the Sports Pass straight away, so you could use your existing 3 months and then redeem this pass in three months time. The pass remains on the stick until it's activated. Hope that helps a bit.

You're right. The amount of cheap boxes they've sold over the years offering entertainment, sports packages etc is ridiculous. And they have a Sky Ocean Rescue campaign going.
Does anyone know if this can be used to cast a Macbook or phone?

Chiselled athlete with a glass jaw sadly.

Sadly, yes. But it is heavyweight boxing so I guess anyone can get knocked out!

What's your prediction for the rematch?

There's a plastic waste recycling scheme in place, and they pay you for it too.
It's called CEX.

Some TVs have a smooth motion setting and that does help abit but I agree 720p/25 is shocking in 2019. Think now TV will have to get their act together soon because BT will be launching their sports app on this device with 1080p/50 streams, that would be shocking that a rival company can offer better quality.

Hello when are they launching their app? The thing is it will cost at least £15.00 a month for bt, I don't want to pay that much. I agree though the picture on now TV is poor.

Looking at Dec/jan for bt sport app to be released to the public, think it's in beta at the moment so it's definitely coming soon. On the price front I'm not sure but much like now TV we could see monthly codes a lot cheaper than buying directly.

I'm not convinced by 'NOW TV' own-brand streaming devices. They're all restricted to a choice of just 41 apps (no Prime Video, TVPlayer, Apple TV, MUBI, Shudder, etc, etc.) and the 'Sky Sports Box Office' app (basically a Roku channel) can be added to UK Roku accounts online using the "Add channel with a code" feature (use code: SKYSPORTSBOXOFFICE if you need it) so, as far as that goes, it's not such a big incentive. Personally, I'd recommend this other deal from @Mrsweet because you'll end-up with a lot more options (streaming-wise) than you would otherwise get with one of these things. To my mind access to 8,600+ apps for £17.99 makes more sense than £19.99 for only 41 apps - even with a month of 'Sky Sports' thrown in - because you can snag deals on 'NOW TV' passes, at any time of year, whereas you're always going to suffer from lack of choice with 'NOW TV' boxes and sticks on account of their refusal to open-up their 'App Store' to more Roku channels.

For example, over the past few months, there's been several deals to get the '1-Month Sky Sports Pass' from 'NOW TV' at this price (direct) and even one or two others that would have saved you even more. With 'Black Friday' just around the corner, I wouldn't mind betting there'll be even better offers (perhaps over a longer term) available so, depending on what pass(es) are already on your account, you might be better-off foregoing this deal on the off-chance of grabbing something better next week.

Food for thought, anyway...

Can you watch normal TV with these

If, by "normal TV", you mean 'Freeview' type live broadcast channels of the sort you would get through a regularTV aerial, then... no, you cannot watch them - except for the few 'BBC' channels which are live streamed through the 'BBC iPlayer' app, and others from 'ITV' that you can live stream from within the 'ITV Hub' app - so you might be better-off looking elsewhere, if that is what you are looking for.

Personally I'd recommend this other deal, also from Mrsweet, on the Roku Express which is currently only £17.99 from Argos. It has an app called 'TVPlayer' that will get you some 'Freeview' channels, and another called 'FilmOn - Unofficial' which you can add to your Roku channel selection via the "Add channel with code" feature of your online Roku account (use code: ARTESEAFON if needed) that adds a few more and includes a basic Now / Next style EPG so you know what is on at any given time. There's also the option to invest in an 'HDHomeRun' network streaming box (as we have done) that allows you to connect a single TV aerial to the 'HDHomeRun' and then stream live TV through the 'HDHomeRun' channel (app) on multiple Roku devices and/or phones, tablets, etc. that are connected to the same network. You won't find that app on these 'NOW TV' devices either. Although you may be pleased to know that you can watch 'NOW TV' on UK Roku devices if you so wish.

Hope that is of some use.

That's really good advice!

And for a cheap budget streamer without wanting the one-off sports/movie/cinema channel I think you're right, the Roku at Argos is a better buy for people. You've provided a really explanation for people on 'HDHomeRun, too. Nice one!
Thanks for posting, we have added this to the Highlights page
Just got one from John Lewis for same price.
