Heat =D

Same price as Currys and you get 15% cash back through quidco. But have some heat anyway...as it is cold outside.

bit of heat here i think

Heat added ! Makes me lol that the 6mnth ent one is £34.95 when it would be cheaper to buy 2 x £14 3 mnth ent boxes and you would have a spare box.

Will be buying one once I get paid as its cheaper to buy another box with the 3 month voucher than pay 3 months sub to NowTV, these are super good with Plex I stalled as well.

It would be cheaper but I would not recommend getting two as the passes have a expiry date which is not shown on the pass! Sneaky beggars

Do they not stack? They are scratch card type codes that you enter onto your online account?

No they do not stack. If you have more than 30 days on your old pass, your new pass will void your old pass. In simple terms, never add a new pass until your old pass is about to expire.

Ah, glad I didn't buy a load when Argos had them on offer to beat my Sky Movies subscription

INFO NEEDED.....

Is the pass separate from the box? I already have a NOWTV account and I'm using a 3 month freebie entertainment pass I got with (with my chromsecast), so can I buy this and use it when my current 3 months runs out? (without setting up a new account or using the new box).

To put that into proper english, my question is:

1. can I use the pass with an existing NowTV account (that has already had the free 3 month offer), without using the new NOWTV box?

Do you still need the subscription to watch iPlayer?

This or the Chromecast

you will need to wait until that one is about to expire, but yes you can use with existing account, i have contacted support and asked them about a pass and they told me the end date, so might be worth contacting them to find out yours.
its a pity they don't stack....

Have some heat Buzz.

This is a great price for what you get.

They don't fulfil exactly the same function so it depends on your needs.

Can this be broken to put xbmc on?

No you don't. My subscription ended last month but still use th box for the ITV and C4 players as my smart tv isn't very smart.

have some heat for this.
i wish sky would have a F1 HD Package for the F1 season. That would get some serious heat if the price was right.

Its good that they do let you stack the codes. but not so good for the environment.
can you Imagen the piles and piles of nowTV boxes when we finally leave earth for another planet.

lol

I have had a few boxes myself and what I have done in the past is to give the boxes to friends and colleagues who have created an account but not joined so they could have iplayer etc on their standard tvs. So at least mine have not gone to a the tip.

Good little dumb-to-smart-ish TV boxes. 3 months is good add on.

I don't know about XBMC, but i can tell you for a fact it runs PLEX perfectly

If you're concerned you could pay £1 more and buy a 3 month pass for £15:

Do you need Plex plus to use it?

Excellent deal. Was looking for another 3month Entertainment pass to watch the second half of #thewalkingdead season5 (ends March 30 in uk).

just about to come to the end of a free 3 months with now tv movies. i was very impressed!

I have been thinking of getting this for me dad and was going to get it with 3 months entertainment pass. Does anyone know what uses it has once the pass is over? I know u can pay month to month but I'm guessing my dad won't bother. can it still be used for iplayer etc?

bertie1984

Yes. Remember to cancel the pass at the end to avoid future charges.

Both!

I recently asked the same question, but opted for both which covers everything i need. (all for less than £30 outlay)
For me personally:
NowTV box for iplayer, ITV catchup, 4OD, Demand 5. (and Sky movies 1 month trial & entertainment 3 month trial)
Chromecast (plus android phone/tablet) for Showbox, Youtube, Netflix, Plex, Google Pay Music etc

Obviously, NowTv box can do some of the things i have listed for Chromecast, but I prefer to have the keyboard on my phone/tablet for searching etc.

Do you need Plex plus to use it?

Nope, it's a really easy setup too.
In a nutshell, You login to the box itself and upload the plex file from the internet.
Easy as that!

thanks for positng op

Tip: not many chances for any £back on JL purchases, but Virgin Flying Club members can get some Shops Away miles for purchases

Tip: the official Roku application - eg that you can find in the Google Play store - works to make your SmartPhone into a remote control for the NowTV box, very useful when typing search strings into iPlayer or Spotify etc.

Ditto the Google YouTube app is a great remote control when watching the NowTV YouTube channel

Yes the 'Channels' on the box - ie the catchup iPlayer/itv/4/five as well as things like Spotify [though Spotify requires a log-insubscription]/etc - will all work regardless of whether the NowTV a/c is paying subs to Sky's NowTV (Movies/Entertainment/Sports) or not. It's only the NowTV channel that will go on to prompt to start paying/subscribing again - so you may want to be clear who's payment card is set up on the a/c - and whether you have PIN protection to avoid 'casual' purchases.

The box just needs to be remain logged into an active NowTV account (which will have had a payment card registered on it at some stage).
