Now you can call Freephone numbers and get PAID for it! using the FREE app "0800 Wizard"

Looks like a no brainer to me! The 0800 Wizard. Now you can call Freephone numbers and get PAID for it!

As of the 1st July, 0800 and 0808 numbers are free to call from mobiles.
Therefore we have updated the 0800 Wizard so that it now pays you to call.

By combining the freedom of the 0800 Wizard's '03 conversion' and the power of in-app call credit, the 0800 Wizard can now be a nice little earner.

The 0800 Wizard swaps the Freephone number you want to dial with an 03 number. The charge for calling 03's is already in your bundled minutes so you're not losing out there. If you exceed your bundled contract minutes (or you are a PAYG customer) then the calls are simply charged at normal networks rates.

PAYG users should also check out the PAYG Wizard for amazing savings.

You can use the 0800 Wizard to make calls to Freephone numbers as normal (totally free) or you can register for a Wizard Account and start earning money from using your bundled minutes.

A "Wizard account" is an in-app credit "pot" that you top up via in app payments or save money with calls made via the 0800 Wizard. You may already have one if you have used our 0844 and 0845 Wizards.

The money earned making calls to Freephone numbers will accumulate in your Wizard account allowing you to withdraw it to your PayPal account, or similar, when you reach £5.

Follow @wizard_apps on Twitter to keep up to date with changes and to provide feedback, alternatively you can reach us on info@wizardapps.co.uk

Points to note:
1. Calls to 0800, 0808 and 0500 numbers will be made using an 03 number to connect your call. Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls.

2. Call credit is earned by making calls to Freephone numbers at the rate of 0.4p per minute. This credit will be added to your Wizard account and can be withdrawn when £5 has been reached.

3. Payments will be made within 30 days of request and will be made to a registered PayPal address primarily. If you do not have a PayPal account you will be asked to supply a contact telephone number for one of our team to contact you. Please have payment details handy for when we call.

So you need to have used at least 1,250 minutes before you can withdraw a fiver?

I dialed 0800 on my mobile yesterday and this app tried to intercept my call. I chose no because it says I'll earn money from them so it sounded dodgy.
If its free to call 0800 on mobile now, there isn't any use for this app. No idea what kind of deal they are pulling to be able to offer people money to use their app by transferring your call to another number?

No thanks

Has anyone else registered for this and then almost immediately received a phone call or two? Just wondering if this happening to me was an unfortunate coincidence or not. I didn't answer the phone calls, so have no idea if they were legitimate or cold calls...

0800 numbers are free from pretty much any line - including Skype.

Still trying to get my head round this, but isn't all you are doing converting call time you've already paid for into cash in your paypal account - with I assume the app taking a rake-off?

What a con this is!!

0800 are free .... end of, 03's are charged.

Don't be daft and use the 03 App .... they are just trying to hold onto a market that has now disappeared.

FREEZING COLD!!

It looks like I missed something or folk haven't bothered to read the OP properly. Going by some of the comments I'd say the latter.

As I see it you get paid when you call an 0800 number, the app calls an 03 number instead of the 0800 and that's how you earn a small amount when you make the 0800 call. Since the 03 number is free because it's included in your free minutes then the call cost you nothing and you get paid. So you earn for making a free call that you were going to make anyway. I know you'll never get rich from it but it's free money. Obviously if your package charges you for 03 calls then you don't go and get the app. Common sense really.

If you have unlimited calls which include the 03 number (Most inclusive minutes do give free calls to 03 numbers) then you could make loads of calls to 0800 numbers and build up your earnings.

I apologise if I've missed something obvious but I don't see the problem here?

So spend your day endlessly ringing 0800 numbers, all the while, no one can ring in, and you will have to charge your phone more frequently, thus costing you more in electricity than the pittance you make on the blower all day
