It's based on postcode. That's what they use to verify. Just tried to get the offer and our area isn't covered

Possibly, for their coal powered boilers...

We’re trialling the offer with 4,000 customers initially, so they may get selected if they are an npower customer and live in the trial area.

I got the email and I am based in West Yorkshire if that helps anyone. Checked email doesn't state what areas are covered.

Avoid like the plague, UK's most worst company for customer service, only good if you want grief and nonsense.(Talking from experiance) Got a bill for nearly £5000 for electric when it was £30, countless warrants for nothing, after 3 years of hassle still awaiting for a apology. Customer service have not got a clue to sort out problems, they just want free money, other words they are crooks.

Be advised if they find faults they could disconnect your gas to boiler.Maybe a good safety feature but not if you don't expect it.

I was just thinking about leaving npower today.. they don't even support opening a joint account.. I was told that their system can't handle two names for billing. c'mon It is 21st century.. and you know, everywhere is asking utility bills for address proof purposes, just trying to add the missus's name in so she can use the bills for that purpose too..

What's worse is they used to allow joint accounts.

When they changed their computer systems to single named users, they used my wife's name as the account name, but my e-mail address, phone number and date of birth meaning they refused to talk to either of us for a while as we always failed the "security" checks.

Needless to say, we left fairly soon after we twigged what was happening.

​gosh, that sounds messy.. so I am not alone! to make things worse, the cs people I spoke to were very unfriendly as well, when telling me the bad news, not even a sorry..now I am 1000% sure I will be leaving..

They changed my name on my account and now can't change it until I send proof.. Idiots

It's not a boiler service, it's a safety inspection. They do not follow manufactures instructions on how to complete the boiler service.

Just to update you had the npower man come this morning. Serviced the boiler but didn't need much was in good condition. Checked all gas appliances flues etc. Gave me a free carbon monoxide alarm. Put sticker on boiler to confirm when last serviced with paperwork to confirm all ok. Great service couldn't find a fault.
