Npower are servicing mine tommorow, I'll let know how satisfied I am with the service

Most people would be better off just saving the money in the bank for boiler use, than tied to a contract
Plenty advice out there

How much is a one off service charge?. I think this would still work out cheaper plus u get boiler cover thrown in for the year.

we had boiler care for yrs! I worked out if we had just saved the money we could of bought a new one!

This is simply a way to generate work and obtain money from "service" to cover the cost of npowers engineers whilst work load is thin on the ground during summer months.
Save your money as already suggested.
Nearly as pointless as a pedal bike service.

Emsie83 is spot on
Plus most combi boilers are not designed or built to last

Looks a good deal to me as an annual service charge for me is usually £75

I pay £65 for a service on my valiant boiler once a year this price has not changed since the boiler went in, and the boiler has been in for 10 years now and is still going strong. Find a good private engineer to service.

Ask if they cover sludge in the system?

£100 to call out! oO

Sorry wouldn't go near npower worst company I have ever had to deal with.

Do not go near this company, customer service is run by a bunch dickheads.

I think that the service in all the companies is questionable.

Those people having bad experiences will always complain. As I have done in the past too.

But IF the cashback is paid, then is this not a good deal for an annual service at around £20 ?

Surely it's worth that alone .

Any comments ?

My thoughts exactly. £20 for an annual service saves me £50 off what I normally pay.

and install?

to get a replacement boiler (if it totally breaks) you have to have this cover from the start of the boiler being installed.

I bought a flat and the old woman had some type of over on her Boiler for 7 years (was just services 1.5 months before i moved in).
I noticed the Bar presser was sitting at 0.75 (should be 1-1.5bars). checked the water hose pipe (sorry dont no the name of it) and it was connected and was on (if this was serviced like this this is a fail.) tried to take that pipe out that tops up the presser it was stuck on looks like it has never been removed. also the Boiler was leaking that why the water need to be kept on to keep the presser up.

Can see it has been leaking for years as i can see the rust on it. where it has been leaking. also the bolier would turn on by it self. with no taps or heating on. thought this might of been cos it was cold at the time. so when summer came in it still done it. so at this point i just turn it off from the mains and OMG the gas bill dropped 3/4. the gas company called me and sent out a guy as they thought i was stealing gas.

i had all the paper work to show it had been serviced 1s a year till i took over the flat. got 2-2.5 years out of it before it decided to break

was going to get this kinda cover till i seen they will only try and fix it. but if it need replaced it is not covered as i had not had this plan sins it was installed. even tho i have paper work to show it has been coved sins new by the last owner. also i missed a year when I 1st moved in.

in the end tho i am getting a free heating system (boiler, radiators and pipes) from the government as i have a baby.
(Roof and walls have already been done before i moved in). nice getting something back from the Gov after paying all this tax we have to pay.

bad thing it to replace the flooring i have is going to cost me £800-900 if i put it in my self. lets hope when i take it up. it can be saved. install happens on Friday.
