its not just a vac its a carpet washer too. borrowed my mothers & its great.

We have one and it is very good. Better than the Vax we had before by miles!

Thanks, just reserved one. You also get the £10 voucher with a £100 spend.

Searched for ages for this George! Finally bought a 'bargain' refurbished one for £124.99 from 'cleanstore' 2 weeks ago, so this is a much better HOT deal. Great find.

its also £119.99 @ homebase and then take 15% off giving it to for £102.00

Great price, heat added. Had one of these for over ten years, excellent multi purpose cleaner with very powerful suction.......watch out when cleaning near the budgie cage!

Hot deal.
For those strugling with the argos always out of stock
same price at Amazon
Amazon link

I couldn't order on Homebase - says OOS for home delivery and collection is not an option.

Managed to reserve one at my local Argos though (last one!). Still around as well (e.g. Abingdon, Catford).

Thanks OP. I've been after one of these for years but never found it cheap enough to warrant it when I already have a Henry and a vax carpet cleaner!

If you are not sure what this is it had 2 modes

1) Dry Vac (Like Henry)
2) Wet and Dry (Wet hose has a trigger - pull the trigger and a VERY fine spray of soapy water is released, the hose attachment sucks up the water + dirt. The tank holds the dirty water and had a cylinder for clean warm soapy water.

There are attachments for Carpet, Upholstery (small version of the carpet one) and a hard floor tool. All 3 attachments are great.

Superb quality, Simple to use. Easy to change from wet to dry. Easy to clean. Spares look cheap (I've never had to buy them - Yet)

Cleans carpets really well.
I cleaned the carpets from the car - Amazing
Hard floors are cleaned and mopped in one go!

Really good.

The unit is large. There are 2 sets of hoses 1) Dry 2) Wet

Water capacity was fine, Remember not to put too much soap in as even a few drops can clean well.

Finally its a mains operated powertool with water inside (in wet mode) so make sure you use it safely: Level floor, good lighting, etc

Great price! I bought one of these from Argos today - haven't tried it yet, but looks well-built and all the Numatic machines seem to have very good reviews.

I also bought some carpet shampoo, but then found out that this machine includes a bottle in the box.

Nice to support British manufacturing as well - especially since Dyson moved their manufacturing overseas.

One thing to remember about this model is that it doesn't come with the excellent cord rewind and storage system of the Henry.

Good point we have Dysons for dry cleaning and Mr Henry only comes out for big cleans - I have a plastic storage crate for Mr Henry's accessories and the wet hose is kept in a cupboard. The dry hose and kit is still in the box in the loft as we just use the Wet Vac. Actually Mr Henry is in the loft too (I rescued him from a skip! Neighbor said he did not work - Do not wash filter was clogged - Washed and dried - Good as new!)

The tools and accessories for Mr George are bigger than Mr George, there are heavy and bulky compared to traditional Vacs.

To be fair the build quality is amazing and the unit does so much I'm not complaining, but if you live in a place with limited storage this might be a factor.

I have a Henry and think the chord storage system is great. How does the chord storage on George work as there's no sign of the chord in the picture !

Found bags on amazon 10 for £11 odd

Brilliant. Just reserved mine!

I reserved the last one where I live my only concern is currently I have a dyson and hence bagless, any advice?

I've got this and it's brilliant. I get bags, replacement and equivalent cleaning solution online like appliance spares, a lot cheaper

I used to swear by Dyson until I tried a Henry. The bags last for ages with only a small reduction in performance as the bag fills up.
Whereas I found with the Dyson it was essential to keep the the dust container as empty as possible in order to maintain performance.

Thank you for the advice

I can't see that the re-usable bags will definitely be ok for the 300 series. Read through some of the reviews to check but haven't found anything yet.

How do they compare to the miele cat and dog (dry vac mode )?

Thank you OP, just picked the last George up from my local Argos.

I already have a Henry but bought George because of the dual functionality. Can anyone please advise how George compares to Henry as a day to day vacuum cleaner as I will not be using the carpet cleaning function that often.

It's bigger and heavier that's for sure, has a larger capacity bag, probably more powerful as well but haven't checked.

was going to buy one from cleanstore a few weeks ago, glad I held off. got the last one in Larne, NI, still one in coleraine, none in Ballymena.. anyone local to me Will know these places..
