Dear Jimmy,
Can you fix it for me to get a massive slating on HUKD?
MT

Dear MT,
No I can't, 'cos I'm dead. And if I wasn't, I'd be in prison.
But here's a solution, post the deal below and your dream will come true.
Jimmy

Ok so inspired by the following deal,

hotukdeals.com/tag/dea…e=4

I looked at mobile phones on dx.com.

I have not bought this phone, so cannot comment. I have bought cheap tablets from DX in the past and can report no issues, though I appreciate many have.

This phone looks like it is trying to compete with the HTC M8, though I know it can't!

The specs look pretty good for the price and the AnTuTu rating is 17,340 according to DX.com. (Just a note here that on the GULEEK deal DX.com state 12K score on AnTuTu, but "thekanester" reports he achieved a 15K score - maybe down to different versions of the software)

At no point am I trying to compare this phone to a HTC M8, but for the price and specs, worth a punt? I'm certainly considering it.

Wow. nice looking (rip off obviously), good spec, bargain price if no customs.

Heat for whatever you call that in the description... Nice price too.

cheers - looking positive so far (there's still time though!) :-)

Correct me if i'm wrong, but is this dual sim too?

Specs look decent. But an 1800mAh sounds a bit lame? My Lumia 920 had a 2000mAh battery and struggled to last a day.

But at this price, you can't really complain. (Although plenty will as it's from DX ... lol)

cold not a samsung note edge

Yep, battery will get hammered with a 720p screen and quad core CPU.

That's the problem with these Chinese phones... there's usually one part of the spec that spoils the entire deal!

It's like this Newman K18 at Antelife:

antelife.com/new…tml

Octa-core 1.7GHz, 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM, 5" 1080P screen for £98.42... but 2000 mAh battery to power that? No thanks!

Yeh I agree on that. Then again that explains the price.
With this one there is a removable battery - chance of an uprated battery on ebay?

Is there battery which will fit this phone? I can't find anything on ebay

No had a luck myself - hardly anything on the make.
Thought maybe it might be "badge engineered" and someone out there might have the tech knowledge to point me in the right direction.
Still, gonna buy and give to my sister with an Anker portable charger - plenty of room in her handbag for both!

Cheers for that - it confirms that this is a dual sim phone - a nice bonus. I recall seeing a dual sim phone (which seemed naff) on HUKD that cost more

Seems to offer exceptional spec for the money. Tempted myself and only hesitant based on no real-world reviews yet. Superb find if the hardware feels as good as the specs. Thanks for the post.

If you're looking for a similar one with a pretty decent battery, this might interest you. 4G as well (with Three or EE).

That can't be right - someone check the specs for me - does that say it can do 4g?!

Think it depends on the bands the phone does / does not support. cecilmcroberts posted this chart

Cheers thanks - It's a little too technical for me so sure someone can work it out on my behalf!

There is a difference between this one and the Lenovo which is the bands stated.

Lenovo
4G: TD-LTE B41 (2555~2575MHz) LTE FDD B1/B3 (2100/1800 MHz)

Nuqleo Quadrant:
Dual band HSPA+ 4G/3G*, at 850/1900 MHz - so looks like no 4g supported in UK (or more shockingly no 3g supported either?)
but
Quad band GSM enhanced 2G, at 850/900/1800/1900 MHz - of which the 1.8ghz would fall into the frequency above

Does POSS stand for the same as POS ? Cold.

they deliver from Hong Kong or China can sometimes take up to 3 months to arrive and if your unlucky your parcel can be stopped by customs and you'll have to pay tax

Battery capacity, possible import tax, for the specs it is super cheap - will this be reliable or will it develop problems after a while?

I have gone for the huawei y330 for £39 from Sainsburys, can also get for £29 from car phone warehouse as payg upgrade. It's got less specs than this but at least I know I can sell it to cex for £35 due to its brand. The y330 reminds me of the original HTC Desire from 2010 - simple no nonsense to the point phone, albeit slightly crap battery but virtually zero bloatware.

I could only see the Spanish version of the PDF so thanks for the link to the one in English. Emailed Nuqleo regarding buying spare battery and they said 'the phone is not officially launched for another couple of months' (it is intended for the South American market), except for the deal they have with DX making it available now and don't know if they will be selling spare batteries at the moment. Can't see any batteries available for three existing range of phones. Still a great spec for the price.

will this phone last a month or so...never heard of it...but maybe if somebody has it and can give a good review ..would be very helpful..for the price...u cant complain...but dx.com.is based in china i think so i hope there is no customs tax on top of it..

Good old, trustworthy NUQLEO.

this is a rebranded Cubot One with the CPU of the One-S but with 1GB RAM and lower battery - I bought my One for £94 from merimobiles and would buy again, no customs as declared a gift item, obvo lifespan of these phones is an unknown, all I can say is I've had my phone 3 months and the quality is surprisingly good, performance wise it flies

Yeah, last June I bought a Jiayu G3 from Merimobiles (similar to this company). To be honest I don't think I would bother buying a Chinese phone again. My phone came rooted with Gplay installed, however I have always been concerned about upgrading or resetting it for the fear that the language will revert back to Chinese. And then that would be interesting.

Further downsides I encountered: GPS is poor and painful to get working, audio socket isn't as good as your average smartphone sold here and part of the bezel has now come away.

Having said that, I paid £135! For £48 I would be more confident in taking a gamble. Would be great if someone could find an alternative battery for this.

Ordered one for dad - fingers crossed it's as good as it's stats make it seem!
