NUS Discount Card FOR ANYONE for £26 - HUGE list of discounts available!

Ok, so bare with me on this one! It's a bit of a workaround, but it works!

I realise NUS cards alone cost £12 for a year membership, but this deal is for someone who ISN'T a student, who wants the huge amount of perks you get with an NUS card, and depending on your spending, you can save a lot with one! The list of discounts is huge, but look on the NUS Extra website here>‌ nus.org.uk/en/…ra/ for all the details.

This is how to get one:

Go to this course on Groupon, pay the £14 and apply >‌ groupon.co.uk/dea…462 You never know, you might fancy this course anyway!

Signing up to this effectively makes you a student eligible for an NUS card, and it's just filling in the right details on your NUS application from there! The NUS card also doubles as photo ID if necessary

ANUS card

bare with you? sounds naughty

ANUS card

you tried?

could be worse could be an NSU

You do realise that the NUS validate the application and cross reference the details you give them with the education establishment and student id. Over and above this the course you are on must meet a minimum number of hours study.

If you dont meet the criteria and your application gets declined then you do not get your £12 returned either.

you can just do it for £12. sign up online like normal and find your nearest uni to pick it up.. the next couple of years can be sent to your own house. i went to uni and have been doing this every year for 8 years now...

Hmmm

Me too

But doesn't the uni that you pick it up from realise that you're not actually studying there, or are these things not checked?

I wish people would stop ****ing about with NUS fiddles, it's hard enough being a poor student anyway, if mass fraud starts happening, retailers will stop offering the discount.

Not strictly fraud, if you pay the money to sign up for the course and that's all that's needed to be eligible for a card, then why not apply for it?

Poor student? do you think your the only people suffering that should be entitled to get a discount on stuff ,most people today are finding it hard so why should students be the only ones that should save a few quid. It makes me sick that they are moaning about money they made the choice to go to uni no one else and you knew that money would be tight when you made that decision unless daddy is paying.
Edited by: "polly69" 6th Apr 2014

Money isn't even tight for most students who are vaguely aware of how to live on a budget.

Its pretty pathetic how many can't though - some people I know seemed to have every whim taken care of by mummy and daddy and have no idea how to live in the real world. One of them was even surprised you had to pay for water...

Stop whingeing, take a Prozac, and try to to get over your envy of someone who is trying to get on in life without being a burden on the rest of us by claiming benefits. Are you totally self sufficient Polly?

I've just had a baby, do I get a special discount? My friend lost his job does he?

So has anyone done this? Seems pretty straight forward as it's advertised as eligible on groupon. I'm sick of shops offering discounts for certain parts of the community. If they can take a 10% hit on profits for students then they are charging me 10% too much

just say you're a mature student lol

Don't think this will go through because I'm sure they will check your 'chosen' place of study.

Benefits of NUS card

http://hub.endsleigh.co.uk/2013/august/10-ways-to-use-your-nus-card/

I am considering it to get a discount on train travel.

Anyone actually applied and got it, using this?

I thought you needed a .ac.uk email account which verifies you as a university student. This course surely wouldn't provide such a facility.

So some prat has expired it?

Yeah, some fool has expired it.

The deal is on, if anyone new comes to the thread.

It is not expired.

Your application will be rejected if you are not a student, all applications are checked, your application isn't approved or sent for printing until this check is completed. How much of a cheapskate do you have to be to pretend to be student, next you'll be applying for disabled blue badges, and over 60's discounts. Why don't you just sign up for a course you lazy so and so if you want student perks?

I wonder if Julia mcdonaldon has a nus card?

She may be a bit skint as amazon keep selling her books for £1.75
