I'm hunting for a good key-finder (wandering child) alarm and came across this one. I'm posting this here as much to get everyone's comments, as I've never used one before and sure folks will have much to say on them, as a concept, and also which brand is best, works well, good value etc.

There are others, some simpler (like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wireless-EIVOTOR-Flashlight-Transmitter-Receivers-x/dp/B06X18D4ZQ) and arguably cheaper because they don't use Bluetooth or a phone app.

I suspect there will be a big gap between quality ones that work reliably and battery life is good, to those which fall apart after a few months.

Price seems fair though on this one. Not sure if NUT is a decent brand.

TWO-WAY SMART REMINDER - You can be alerted by an audible beep either through smartphone or Nut Bluetooth Smart Tag when both devices are separated more than 30 meters away

ANTI-LOST - If you become separated from your Nut, an alert comes up on your phone to say that the Nut are disconnected. The map of Nut App will tell you where they were last connected, you can go back to that area and they can reconnect as soon as you are close to the Nut

MULTI-TASK - You can control 20 Nut Bluetooth Smart Tags through the Nut App, and keep track of 6 Nut Bluetooth Smart Tags online at one time

MULTI-FUNCTION - Super-thin and lightweight, which makes it easy to fit your wallet, handbag, key rings, pet, luggages, even your kids. The GPS tracker can be your best partner

ULTRA-LOW POWER CONSUMPTION - Ensure the long time work. In addition, we provide a spare battery. The battery in the nut tracker can be replaced

Thanks for that pearl of wisdom ... just put your keys in a safe place don't know why I didn't think of that earlier.

The reviews on Amazon suggest it's range is poor and prone to false alarms.
You would end up silencing it which makes it pointless but then no better or worse than similar more expensive items and fulfilled by Amazon so send it back in 30 days for a refund

I have the nut mini, 3 of. I have to say they're very good, I inherently lose my keys at every possible opportunity. Reminds me when I leave them and you can use the finder when you do lose them. Only down side is the Bluetooth hammers your phone battery. You can set up a no alarm zone so they don't go off every five mins at home.
They are about half this price if bought from the far east. I have a few for keys and wallet and they work well. Yes they do suffer a limited bluetooth range and I did get false alarms when I left my keys on my desk and wander off but you can setup rules so as to avoid them ie quiet times or when connected to a certain wifi hotspot.

I wouldn't buy anything from Gearbest, unless it was under a quid. I had an Android box arrive which was DoA and they asked me for photos of the problem before they would replace or refund. They also gave PayPal the runaround. I just wouldn't risk anything else with such poor customer service.
Chipolo is decent too. Solid app.

+1 half the stuff never arrives, and they mess you about for weeks :-(
Good find
