I’ll jump in with some facts before all the nutters start making ill-informed comments.

“The vegetable oil used in Nutella® is sustainable palm oil, 100% certified segregated RSPO. This means that the palm oil used in Nutella® is kept separated from conventional palm oil along the whole supply chain. Ferrero's achievement of the RSPO certification has also been praised by Richard Holland, Director of WWF's Market Transformation Initiative.”

Basically, yes, it does contain Palm Oil, but it is certificated sustainable and does not contribute towards deforestation. Ferrero actually actively campaign against deforestation and are supported by Greenpeace.

Eating Nutella also doesn’t give you diabetes, before all those nutters start commenting too.

Good price, heat added.

£4 / kg used to be my sweet spot price, however the latest twice I've brought from Amazon its been £2.50 / kg (or slightly less) buying in quantity i.e. 4x 1kg

Fantastic comment and well said, I hate the food police and those who think my googling something they get the facts.. Cheers

Search for Nutella on here, and you'll see in the last month or so an example.

'bought'
Their own brand, Nutoka, is quite nice aswell.

Eating it in moderation isn't going to kill you.
My kids go through this stuff quicker than loo roll... or maybe there's a link there!

Explain your photo then big boy. What’s the point of it? What are you trying to imply?

And my comment wasn’t saying how good Nutella is, it was explaining to people how the palm oil in Ferrero products is actually sustainable and not an environmental issue, because clowns usually post photos of Nutella jars or post ridiculous statements that are not factually correct and have nothing to back them up.

I was thinking of buying until I saw this- I think it shows that you are basically just paying for palm oil and sugar, so the actual cost of this is probably about £1, hence cold for me...

Just looked it up and it's 58% sugar, 30+% palm oil - imagine mixing those two and eating a big spoonful

You could say that about the ingredients in anything.

You could say it about any ingredient in any product. Imagine a spoonful of pure cocoa powder with no other ingredients, not pleasant. It’s such a daft thing to come out with.
Great price.. I love adding this to my microwave cakes (oven is dying a very sad "burn everything on the bottom" death)

Indeed...It's back to peanut butter for me- comparatively super-healthy and slow burn good fats should stop any hyperactivity

Well I said it because it's 88% palm oil/sugar. I looked at another nut butter: Meridian Cocoa & Hazelnut Butter - that is 75% hazelnuts and 10% honey with cocoa etc...I would be quite happy to stuff a load of hazelnuts and honey in my mouth!

Admittedly it costs more, but value for money is actually far better when you consider actual ingredients cost! Not to mention costs to NHS for obesity, diabetes and heart disease

Anyway, i'll be happy switching back to peanut butter and Marmite
I best keep my misses away from Aldi...

You must have missed the numerous deals where you had to buy 4 x 1kg at a max of £2.50 each. I've got 4kg that is not finishing any time soon. We only use it for Digestive biscuit sandwiches. Before the sugar mafia come for me, it's only once a week ish.

Sugar and hyperactivity aren't linked. It's environmental.

Example.

Two kids birthday parties. One has a bouncy castle, water pistols and loud music. But the kids only have carrots, hummus, water and fruit to eat. The other party has them playing sleeping lions, painting and calm folk music, the food being crisps, sweets, fizzy drinks and chocolate.

Now tell the parents that their child is going to the sugar party but they actually went to the bouncy castle fest and vice versa and you'll see that they'll believe it's the sugar that causes the hyperactivity.

Avoid the “spread”

Wow, thanks for the info- I can't believe this is such a widely believed myth!

However, I think I will still try and resist the temptation of buying again, just to avoid the other negatives (ending up fat and toothless )
