This little beast is probably the best gfx card on the market in terms of price/power ratio. You need a good power supply (recommended 600w) and possibly additional power plugs that may need to be purchased seperately if your psu doesn't supply them. The card is an OEM therefore no unnecessary bundles, just the card and SLi cable. Drivers are available directly from nvidia.com

Ebuyer as a online supplier is one of the all time greatest now and can afford to give you these excellent deals at a cost that maybe no other supplier can touch.

Note: free delivery applies only if you select supersaver delivery although you normally recieve your item in a couple of days.

P.s think SLi in these babies!...

P.p.s 18 in stock so be quick! (16/06/2008)

P.p.p.s This card works well in XP as well... (DX9)

NOTE: as stock levels are dropping, prices seem to be going up.

Hot! Lot of bang/buck !

Good find, voted hot:thumbsup:

Apparently these are worth going for than the 9800GTX... alot of reviews to prove this.

i've ordered one, i'll report back in a few days if this is a burner...

Ciao (",)

MuJa

Very powerful card. Warning, uses a lot of power.

Already got one, think its time to get another and step into the world of sli!!!!

HOT!

Very nice powerful card, however (My personal opinion) i would go for a 8800GT, its £70 quid less and truly not that much lesser card than the GTX, only a couple of FPS differance, although the GTX holds up at higher resulutions

Original Poster

This card is excellent if you run games in higher resolution as wirdwilli suggested. 8800GT struggles in that area... i know as i have one and thought i could do with an upgrade with this one (",)

When upgraded PSU (if needed) go for a good reputable brand like Antec - TruePower.

Wait 13 days and get the new GTX260 which will be much faster. And most likely cost £200

Voted cold.

Truly great card for the price and HOT - I paid 360quid when they were first released. However, the next generation graphics cards will be out within 2-weeks.

but for the moment, thi IS the hottest deal for any high end graphics card.

I ordered this on Monday and it was 164.99 - Might be worth waiting for price fluctuations.

I know it's already mentioned in OP post but this deserves some extra warning...

This card is LONG at a length of 275mm. Make sure you have enough clearance in your PC case to fit this!

It's recommended to have around 550w PSU or above!

Can i just say, new cards are coming out all the time... so theoretically you would never buy a new card on the basis on waiting for another one to be released

The 9800GTX is newer however this 8800GTX out performs it on higher end (i.e resolution)..

The 9 series is just a refresh of the 8 series and not a new architecture. The new series which are due in only 2 weeks is a big jump forward apparently and that doesn’t happen more than once or if you’re lucky twice a year.
I’d wait to see what the new cards have to offer as the chances are the older high end cards are going to take a hit in pricing and this may just be the start. Of course if you need to buy now that’s a different story…

Pointless investing in this now, new cards start arriving next week, prices will drop even lower.

This card is the only card you'll need for a LONG time!

Hot price for a scorching product (Literally!:w00t:)

No!

GTX280 is the only card you'll need for a long time. 8800GTX has been out like 2 years now?

I would of agreed with you when it first came out :P

Cold - Theres a Zotac 8800GT AMP! on here for under £110, this will be a smidge slower, but be smaller, quieter and run cooler without taking in so much power.

The 8800GTX was epic, and the fact that they still cut the mustard shows how much work nVidia put into it, but £170 for one now isn't really a deal when better cards are available for the same price.

Cold.

I opted for BFG 8800gt OC2. Managed to get a brand new one on ebay for £126 delivered. There may be better deals about but not to Northern Ireland. GT actually beats the GTX in some benchmarks but the GTX edges ahead at high res in most stuff. GT is newer and uses less power and runs cooler. GTX is not worth the extra £40 imo.

To be honest I'd hold off but I just bought Age of Conan and my 7800gt just doesn't cut it!

great card but takes alot of power for the average user but i would agree and just use my gt 8800 card instead
i am building a rig at the minute but i will wait on these new cards coming out in a week or so :thumbsup:

btw should i go ati hd instead cause i dont know too much about them but i hear there great with most games??

If you're talking about the new cards coming out no one really knows. Wait until the reviews have started to come in.

thanks hope they are alot better than this one cause if there just slightly better, no point shelling out the difference

BTW hope they wont cost an arm and a leg :w00t:

ATI looks like a nice performance boost at a reasonable price, NVidia seem to have gone for a bigger still performance boost but at the expense of high price and heat.

Won't know for sure though until the reviews.

I like the look of the XFX 8800GT 512Mb XXX Edition on the same site, clocked to 670Mhz and not as power hungry (£126.99)

Guys (and girls)... all i'm saying is that for price/power ratio this card is pretty cheap to buy compared to any other GFX card out there.. including a similar one that can be bought elsewhere (which if i may add is much dearer). Yes i know there are newer cards to be released but for now, at this price.. if you NEED a gfx.. then i would recommend to buy.

If you can hold off till a few more weeks... then by all means wait (",)

Lets not get carried away and vote cold because of cards pending for release... at this moment in time this is a good buy hence a hot deal... and is worthy on this wonderful site.

I can't find a cheaper price card of the same card elsewhere... please post here if you can... we'll all benefit from it...

8800GTX = £169.99 for 100% of performance = £1.6999 per %.

]Zotac 8800GT AMP = £104.58 for 95% of the performance = £1.10 per %

2x ]9600GT's in SLi would actually be 1p more than the 8800GTX, and outperform is most of the time (although you'd need a beefier PSU and an SLi mobo).

Nice card:thumbsup:

The ATI 4870 cards are around the corner and hopefully sub £200. Apparently creaming all over Nvidias best of the day. Can't find any benches for the GTX280 yet, but apparently its three times faster than a HD3870 and I bet has a monster price tag too. Benches below:

This is an unbranded OEM card so those looking for a branded Retail boxed version with cables, games (Ghost Recon, GTI Racing) and possibly a better warranty can get an Asus version for £176.4 + Postage – Quidco from Microdirect which comes to ~£174 after Quidco.

i totally agree (",) well done on the find.

Update: they only had a dozen in stock... and no longer stock these at the price above

Good but I dont think its worth the extra 70 over an 8800GT

HD4850 just started showing up in holland for €156 which is about £120ish

Wrong.

This card can play any game at it's highest setting, with only Crysis showing any signs of slight problems. Trust me, this card is a beast.

It's a beast, and it's easily nVidia's most impressive card yet (considering when it was released - but that's a different story), but it wont be top-dog for too much longer...
