quotes from an ebuyer review. Sounds true as this is a category 1 card.

"This is actually a retail boxed XFX card which includes a DVI adaptor VIVO breakout cable and a door handle hanging sign which says 'Do Not Disturb...I'm Gaming!'."

"Thats almost a 7800GTX(overclock) for a very small amount of money!Plays everything modern including Crysis, Bioshock, MOH Airborne, and COD4 on mostly high settings"

Should easily beat a Geoforce 9600GT (dont quote me on that)
EDIT it seems to almost match it!!!!!!!
Edit again. Sometimes it a decent bit less on 2nd quote. But on something 3 times the price. And looking at 1st review quite close, better in some ways. ebuyer review says it is factory overclocked.

Maybe I am reading wrong but in 2ND benchmark review posted this seems to beat the 9600GT easily in Crysis. YEP MISREAD 7800 for 8800. Still amazing price though.

EDIT Free delivery for orders over £50

Wont actually BEAT a 9600gt, but it'll come awfully close.

I have the 7900gt that I got for a similar price through ebay. Utter bargain. XFX as well, and vista rates it at 5.9.

My idiot friend nearly swallowed his tongue after seeing my £350 rig best his new setup for crysis. He spent £1100 on his system too.

Definately go for this, people.

could 2 of these be used in SLi?

Aaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhh!

People, stop posting tempting gfx card deals please. I'm barely hanging on by a thread here. I can't afford one.

Grumble grumble.

I'm currently on a 6800gt. I'll no doubt get a 8800 or better eventually but this could be a good stop gap. With the new Dawn of War expansion out on Friday this could really be just the ticket, and it'll let me play World in Conflict which I'm tempted by but is too much for my current rig. I might just be able to squeeze Crysis on low settings too....

Hmmm, what to do, what to do?

Was a great card in it's day and use to sell for ££££'s however a 9600GT scores far higher in these reviews. Still for £40 you can play all your old favourites at great settings.

However it is £70 dearer and 3+ years newer technology.

Hot for me!

will this fit a dell vostro 200 and is it a better card than the on board g31 also does it have vga output.

what do you reckon with a vostro 200 with Core 2 Duo 4300 (1.8 GHz) and 3GB RAM? been looking to add a GFX card for a while but wonder whether it's worth it?

Another Vostro user here !

I presume its better than the 4200 HD that came with mine, but would it be noisy ? cant stand noisy cards

Do you mean 2400HD? This would be much better.

Yeah, thats it all these numbers confuse me !!

Cant seem to find if the card needs extra power, not sure if i have a power cable free in the Vostro, cant see a power socket on the board

Good deal this. Been looking for one for a while. Rated Hot!

Deanos - is that black block on the right hand side not a power socket? AIf it is max 56W it shouldn't need it as I think the PCI-e port can provide 75W.

Nige -certainly is hot. Really tempted to replace my X800GT. I'm sure Ed would be interested too!

Any codes/any way to get free shipping chaps?

Ah, just make it over £50 and it's free

Some AAA batteries and a 2GB SD card - back of the net :-D

ill answer some questions for you newbies
it will fit the vostro as i have a 7900GT in mine tightish fit though
it does need a 6 pin power adapter which my vostro 400 came with from the psu BUT a earlier vostro i bought for a friend, maybe 8 months ago DIDNT
yeah the black box is the power socket lol
for the price this card is very good value but starting to age now
it will normally come with 2 dvi connectors so NO VGA so u might have to buy a adapter OR one should normally come with the package

Sorry to be thick, but does this actually fit a desktop pc? I bought a Dell Dimension 9150 2 years ago 2.8 GhZ Dual Core, 2GB RAM but it came with a ATI X600 graphic card. I just about manage to play Oblivion and Company of Heroes on low settings, but would like to upgrade. Despite reading a lot of reviews I don't really know what I should upgrade to. I just don't understand graphic cards.

The £40 price for this one plus all your comments make me tempted to buy one of these, but will it fit (extra power cables?) and run the 2 games above on high settings?

Many thanks.

Not a 9600GT beater. But seem like a HOT deal as these are the going price on ebay or cheaper for 2nd hand ones.

Another buy and part exchange deal for ]cex

Not worth it for £6 surely, esp. at the prices cex charge for their goods...

Very good price, i only just upgraded from this yesterday with a 8800GT. Had it for over 2 years, played most new games and it never let me down... apart from Crysis where it really struggled (at 1680 x 1050 mind). At this bargain price you can't go wrong especially as it's OC'ed

I got mine today, the only thing to note is that they are a little on the noisy side, you might want to consider an alternate cooler to bring the noise down.

The Geforce will fit the desktop you have got.I also wouldn't worry about any cables as all required will probably come with the graphic. However, in some circumstances you will have to consider replacement of PSU too (approx £30), as branded desktops often have insufficient amperage to supply more power-hungry graphic (replacement required if less than 22-25A at 12V - check the label of PSU)

It hurts me to see deals like this. got this 2 years ago for £250 now its only £40 cant believe the drop in price

Sorry, you lost me again, what is PSU and where can I find the label?

Bought and BOUGHT.

Nice upgrade to my ATi X700. And for only £45

Hang on. Why didn't I buy £10 of other crap? Cancel...

7800GT, 12 D-cell batteries and a set of headphones. £50.45. Nice.

I also like how 2GB SD cards are now related to batteries.

This is hot! A week earlier would have saved me a fortune:(

Voted Hot.

Only niggle is the 256MB Memory, 512MB now seems to be the standard - at this price you can't moan.

Bought it.

most 512's are DDR2 but this is DDR3 which i think is quicker

could 2 of these be used in SLi?

It looks to have the SLi connector on the top side, so I'm guessing yes. Confirmation from a techy guru type would be good.

yes this would be compatible with sli

Hahaha the 7800gt is 3 generations old not even dx10. its about the same speed as the 7900gs. good price for a basic card. IMO if you want real game play you should not go lower than the 3850!

AAAArrrrrrgh Stock went down to 8 so I folded and ordered one. Determined not to spend this month. : (

I have one (paid a whopping £240 a couple of years back). It's quiet on the desktop until it spins up when you start a video, or mess around with Vista Aero, then it's extremely loud.

Crysis didn't play very well on fairly low settings, UT3 also didn't look so great. Anything below those should run fine. I'd look for something a bit better though, and definitely wouldn't think about SLi.
