Who manufactures the card? I'm assuming it's novatech themselves?

This card looks better and available for £45

amazon.com/PNY…IZO

And yes i know its .com

Anyways dont think this is good enough for me.

The reviews and picture are for the expertvision / palit ( same thing) 9600gt with the uprated cooler and Hdmi connection,If this is the actaual card you get then this is a real bargain and is almost as fast as a 8800gt in most games and slightly faster in some others and also uses quite a bit less power,The 9600gt also proves to be a far better option for Sli and to say this is only a little bit more expensive than the hd3850 this is much much faster and has roughly the same power consumption,Hot Hot Hot,
Tony

just ordered one voted hot great card and a good find.

I was waiting for it to come down to this price but already bought the 8800GS when it was £45, oh well.

Very hot deal!

Amazon.com don't ship electrionic goods internationally, try it

No novatech do not make any components. It will be the cheapest one they can get hold, might even be an oem.
Their PCs are made up from the cheapest somponents they can find such as fox / elite etc.
Their MD is a small man with a big ego, and likes to pretend he manufacturers stuff and keeps the 'novatech' brand so its harder to google for a like for like.

It’s pretty normal for retailers to brand OEM computer stuff as their own; Dabs, Overclockers, Scan, CCL and others do it. Sometimes their product codes give away the identity of the item so you know in advance what you’re getting.

Can anybody offer any advice on how this card compares to the ]3850 ATI card posted on here last week? - is it worth the extra tenner?

Currently have the Saphire 3650 and am considering an upgrade in order to allow me to play Crysis on slightly higher settings.

What PSU would we need to run this?

It depends on the other components in your system. Typically for a modern PC a good quality 300W P/S would suffice.

If you just google 'GeForce 9600GT' you'll find that the normal price is about £68 anyway... so not much of a saving in my opinion

For info on how they compare including Crysis try Techreport.

It does well against the HD 3870 - Anandtech so easily worth £10 more than a 3850.

Am I missing the point? Coz this appears to be a US only item, and therefore has no relevance, unlike, as I say I am missing the point??

arent ebuyer doing the 8800gt for £75 delivered though?

8800gt is slightly faster but you will have to factor in the cost of a new psu as the 8800gt will definitely need 400w plus whereas you will probably get away with th300w already fitted to most PCs

not if your 300w psu lacks a pci-e connector and has 4 SATAs instead of molex. Infact my Dell PSU uses 1 sata for DVD-RW and another 2 for both HDD's, so I have 1 SATA free. :-( I really don't want to waste £40 on a good PSU, just to upgrade from an 8600GT.

So I'd still need a new PSU, even for a 9600GT?

you can buy a sata to pcie adaptor

:? where exactly? i've seen molex to pci-e but SATA to pci-e?? the former needed 2 molex to power 1pci-e too

A link to the product i need would be great, i'd be grateful ta!!

Ordered this today.
They still have it at the same price.

It's about £7 cheaper than the next cheapest place I could find, plus you get free postage plus you get 3% quidco which makes this at least £15 cheaper than the rest.

Hot.
