Nobody else wanted them.

lol, nailed it

to be fair this is now the price it should be

so tempted just for the dreamcast / gamecube emulation. They ain't perfect for emulation yet, so maybe i'll wait for the inevitable upgrade version next year. Heat tho

At that price wouldn't say it's overkill for kodi as it runs it great and then you have the extras the box can do.

Will i get benerfits with no pc? I have 150mb virgin upgraded to 200 in january. Will i be able to stream games well or buy and down load to external itb harddrive and play or is a PC a must?

Agreed.

All over this.

How do they know this? I see no evidence.

So tempted but overkill for Kodi and I don't have a PC. Would love to use for emulation but not sure I can justify the price for that purpose.

wonder if Amazon will match this

Did they ever fix the two external hard drive issue? You can't use more than two drives with this.

Good deal, obviously ideally you would have a PC to gamestream from but even without this its still a pretty solid entertainment system (running android so Kodi is an option) and powerful gaming device with a good few AAAA standard android games and the monthly game streaming service Nvidia now

http://shield.nvidia.com/game-streaming-with-geforce-now

If you're not bothered about playing multiplayer that much, or play the latest games immediately (and considering you have to pay monthly subscriptions for PS/Xbox anyway) its quite a good option for some light gaming now and then if you have Fibre Optic

Good deal. It would be nice if they would do a similar offer on the K1 tablet too.

sell the game controller £15 at CEX or roughly £25 to £30 on ebay, that is what I will be doing, that makes it £100 for a great box

Yes it does though it wont do so with AMD GPU> Minimum is an Nvidia GTX 650.

I assume you need a good broadband connection for this to be of any great use?

I've got sky broadband via BT's copper line and it seems unlikely to be upgraded soon.

moonlight on google play

a lot of people think that works a lot better than the Nvidia streaming way

great price if you want a 4k tv and game streamer.

Not a fan of Nvidia after their terrible shield tablet, but have some heat anyway

Not really. If you intend on streaming from your PC to this device it doesn't use your internet connection. Just goes through your router via ethernet from PC to the device. If you mean downloading and streaming, you should still be fine.

This year's Shield tablet is supposed to be excellent for the money.

If you think this is amazing price you want your head feeling,it's what it should of been from launch and if it was £49.99 then I would be quoting amazing not at this price

Terrible Shield tablet is a bit extreme, the first iteration was one of the best rated tablets released - blighted by manufacturing issues it appears. The revised model again also top rated.

The problem with Nvidia is they try to over power everything, sell to their core audience, then fire sale the stock, and it stinks

the first Shield was dropped almost as soon as it launched, then the first shield tablet, which was horrendous and recalled and massively overpowered where they have to release their own game re-written for it..

The we have this, the shield TV, clearly not sold well, it was £199 + £40 for TV remote....sold to their core audience, then BAM...fire sale price to be £120 tomorrow inc the expensive TV remote, that is over a £100 reduction in the first 6 months FFS! what does that say to those first purchasers

Now we have this new shield tablet, again over powered, joe bloggs wont want it, it is clear people want battery life and good all round performance over these over powered tablets....

I am moaning I know, and generally I like Nvidia, but they seem to want to play this game where they go "oohhhh look at how powerful this is" their core fan base buy it, then boom, drop support fire sale the stock

Shield Tablet had a dodgy Android upgrade that nerfed it. This has been sorted now. Aside from standby battery being a bit poor, I'm extremely happy with mine.

A bit unfair at £100 it is excellent value, the Amazon 4K box is £80 and this is a lot more powerful than that
