Worst buying experience alongside the customer service being non existent nowadays…..AVOID CURRYS
Well said. Covered my Christmas 🎄 🎁 presents with Cellotape making them look like customer returns . Rather pay more with Argos or Amazon then getting packaging destroyed by unnecessary Cellotape . (edited)

Absolutely, curry's won't buy anything of them customer service and support from them are terrible these days!.

I've always considered buying one of these but not from curry's. As having a nightmare if a issue that's currently ongoing.
    "these days"....

    Always had been terrible.

    Currys, ugh.

Thanks for the deal, and technically this should be hotter than the Amazon one but I've paid the extra £3.21 to go with Amazon and I'd happily do it every time.

I own this, and a firestick 4k, I watch IPTV on them and they both work great - why did I pay so much more for this? - what else can it do?
Can run retro emulated games on it very well.
As said already, a low wattage plex server.
The 4k upscaling is apparently better than the alternatives (I have one myself but have never tried comparing).
Native video codes so you rarely need to transcode any video files.
    Full lossless audio support.
Wired ethernet (that is a must for me for my main device).

I have two Nvidia Shields myself the 2017 model and the 2019 TV Pro...I just gave up with all the cheap chinese android boxes and the Firesticks over the years and just invested in my first Shield in 2017 and never looked back.
The cheap boxes had their places, but not anymore. I did the reverse and bought a Shield in 2014 then went to firesticks. Can't really recommend it anymore unless you absolutely require plex transcoding (which really you shouldn't do anyway)

Hi what gamepads can you use with this or what's best ?
I use the latest Xbox controllers. Got a couple of the old ps3 controllers that also work with them.

Still waiting for the newer version of NVIDIA shield pro. Finger cross 2023
Yep, didn't buy in early 2020 for this reason.. hopefully we will see an update soon

Me too had an awful situation with Curry’s who have three times said they would remedy and haven’t and now say they won’t as it’s 4 months ago now. Never again

An awesome piece of kit. I have one, even though I already have a Sony Bravia with Android installed. It's noticeably more sleek and much more powerful - and the addition of Nvidia Games is the cherry on the cake.

And I've had many Android boxes in the past....

These days, I'd rather give my money to Currys opposed to Amazon.
Amazon returns are such a nightmare now, I'm still waiting on a refund 1 month 2 weeks after shipping back.

I know there's the usual downsides to Currys but if you need it delivered by christmas I'd be tempted to go with them as Amazon seem to be experiencing a lot of delays atm. I've ordered a lot of stuff from Amazon over the past week and nothing has been on time, some end up 4 days instead of 2, some a week and currently have some ordered the middle of last week with estimates anywhere between 18th and 22nd. Not from 3rd party sellers either and everything said 2 days at checkout.

Brilliant media box… plays everything I can throw at it

After 3 years of owning this I finally found a file it does not play - AVI1.
Crunches through everything else - great box and gets regular updates (not all of which are good!)

Stick with Amazon, Currys and their phantom stocks. Out Of Stock. Ordered when so called in stock, then an hour later had an email telling me they cannot deliver (or in my case click and collect) and will call me with options...sod that.

Took me nearly half an hour on webchat to cancel the order, payment has already been taken too. Ordered from Amazon, less hassle and if you want to cancel there is a simple cancel button, no forms to fill out, no webchat, just simple....they don't take payment until despatch either.

Oh, and hit the expired button, out of stock, and who knows how much stock they had. (edited)
