Just bought a NZXT case and had my eye on one of these for a while. Anyone had any experience with one? Reviews are a little mixed.

  • ADVANCED LIGHTING MODES: With an infinity mirror design, add amazing color and lighting to your CPU cooler for a fully dynamic lighting experience
  • ENGINEERED FOR PERFORMANCE: Engineered to achieve superior cooling while keeping noise levels to a minimum
  • MASTER YOUR CONTROL: Using CAM, manage the performance with precision and make changes quickly, using the desktop or mobile app. You can even monitor pump speed and liquid temperature.
  • ALL-NEW RADIATOR FANS: The Aer P radiator fans included are designed for liquid-cooling perfection; providing silent operation, durability, and powerful cooling performance
  • REINFORCED EXTENDED TUBING: Fine nylon sleeves are added to strengthen the rubber tubing and act as a protective layer, shielding your Kraken cooler tubes from potential damage during handling

poor reviews

At £99 this is absolutely a good deal. I paid full whack not too long ago. It's a good looking AIO. The software is a bit in your face, but it works great. The software can be annoying because sometimes it asks you to login manually every now and then (after boot)

Cheers for the input, I'm a little shaky on pulling the trigger after reading some of the negative reviews - but reckon it's worth a go at this price, can always return it. Nice looking build btw

Yeah I was wary of the software issues. But I've had it running a few months now, it's working flawlessly. The only problem is, it needs to be connected online to initially function, otherwise the app won't work which means it won't set your custom profiles, etc.

And as you say, Amazon's CS is unbeatable.

apparently they are all made by the same few companies so i would have a look at some of the deals on scan.co.uk . severel on there for half this price.
I've had mine since the product launched. Yeah the software is a bit naff but the cooler has been flawless for me.

I literally paid £127 at CCL yesterday after having issues with a Master Cooler ML240L this feels a massive upgrade, seems to be holding temps much better after OC
Good cooler, shame about the cam software
Been using mine for two years without issue - I added two extra fans (Shadow Wings 2) for Push/Pull, plus an extra exhaust fan and it's kept my rig absolutely rock solid (under 60°C at full whack).

Cam software is pap, but I only use it for the RGB side of things - everything else run by motherboard headers and MSI Afterburner.

Yes, it's an Asetek pump and rad, and you can buy them OEM, but £99 is a great price, considering NZXT's excellent aftercare.

(Excuse the horrendous pic - mid-build and currently kept in a modified IKEA Besta cabinet to keep grubby little fingers away!)

Just to add - I was tempted to put the X52 in my son's rig, but space was tight and Push/Pull wouldn't have worked in such a small case, so if you're after a decent air cooler, grab the Scythe Mugen PCGH edition: it performs just as well, albeit with a little more noise...

I have one first batch was dodgy but it all good now defo recommend.
Just make sure you have enough room for ram...often you can't get a stick in slot 1 with the kraken!

I see you have the problem with ram in slot 1!
I bought the x52 on Sunday and it arrived with the NZXT logo not level on the pump. I lived with it for 4 days and today I requested a return and reordered it for £89.99!! Happy days. Edit: Arrived today. This one still looks like the logo isn’t level. It’s all good

More than enough room for RAM.

Don't be put off by people with no clue what this even does. NZXT make incredible products and for this price you should give it a shot. The cables can be moved around or positioned directly out from the cooler, unless you use a tiny case there's no space issues.

Do you know if having an extender for the card like that has any impact on the performance of the card?
Literally no need at all and it will be noisier than most decent standard coolers. Looking at the above setups i think some of you just needed to buy a better case...

All i can say is noctua all the way.

Nope. Well actually - I wouldn't know because I installed the vertical extender during the build. Highly unlikey I'd say.

Looks like you can't sit any ram in slot one like many other people, it's due to the pipes being a bit close .
