Putting their own unique spin on Homer's classic Odyssey, O Brother, Where Art Thou is another Coen brothers classic.

In a Golden Globe winning performance, George Clooney plays Ulysses Everett McGill, a silver-tongued petty criminal who finds himself on a chain gang in deepest Mississippi. Together with a clumsy duo of lame losers, simple minded Delmar (Tim Blake Nelson) and maladjusted Pete (John Turturro), he scams his way off the chain gang and into the adventure of a lifetime as the three set off in search of a fortune in buried treasure... still shackled and hopelessly unprepared for the road ahead.

Featuring a supporting cast of larger than life characters including John Goodman as Big Dan Teague, Holly Hunter as Everett's old flame Penny and Charles Durning as Governor Pappy O'Daniel, O Brother, Where Art Thou? is an irresistible mixture of high adventure, sidesplitting comedy and heartfelt emotion.

agreed- great film that anyone who's enjoyed the coens or is a music fan should own

Great film and great soundtrack

One of their funniest films I think. Clooney really pokes fun at himself.

really wanted to enjoy this film, but it's rubbish! (hot deal though)

Poor film and not even worth the £2.99 price tag, which it has been for a while along with others recently posted.....:whistling:

big cohen brothers fan

Have to say not really a Coen brothers fan, but this film is superb. Clooney is just brilliant. Voted Hot.

Brilliant film - Good find. Heat Added.

What a film - fantastic

Brilliant soundtrack too - one of the few soundtrack CDs I have actually bought

Bought the CD the same week the film was at the cinema. Cost about £14 special order nine years ago and still play it. Some of the tracks are now on my mp3. Big Rock Candy Mountain's one of my favourites. Heat.

I usually like the Coen bros work but i didn't feel this one at all. Obviously a decent price though.

Anyone know of any deals on Dapper Dan?

A "work of art...", what an exageration. You obviously don't know my movie tastes and yet jump to assuming the type of movies I like - what a jerk!

For your interest my fav movies that are "work of art" include: Million Dollar Baby, Crash, Pan's Labyrinth, Magnolia and yes... Aliens!

Surprisingly, people have different tastes in movies! Who knew!

Although, it must be said, by calling a movie 'Poor' you're being just as insulting to people who like it, so taking the hump when you're called out on it is a wee bit two faced. Do you often call strangers 'jerks' too? Probably not off the internet though.

Exactly what value did your original comment bring to the thread? Even though it's been £2.99 for a while when was it last posted here? Oh, and thanks for your list of 'fav' movies. We all slept better knowing that.

I agreed with most of your post - but this bit is total rubbish! Calling a movie "poor" is not "insulting" to anyone. There's nothing wrong with having a balanced opinion on a movie in a thread.
