O2 20gb data 12 month sim only £120 per year - £10pm

Found 25th Feb
O2 sim only deal, 12 month contract with unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and a massive 20gb 4G data included per month.

This sim would usually be £33 per month (£396 per year) from O2 direct but is currently reduced to £20 per month on their website (£240 per year)

However If you go to the o2 site via topukcashback, you can get £60 cashback for taking out this sim (making it £180 per year, £15 per month after cashback)

EVEN BETTER THOUGH - once you are on the o2 site, select the sim and put it in your basket. Before completing checkout, speak to an O2 advisor in online chat for 'advice' on the sim. I just explained that I wanted the deal but still had 7 weeks left with Vodafone before I could join O2. To get me to sign up today, I was offered months 2 3 and 4 FREE of charge. Saving another £60 (total now £120 per year or £10 per month after cashback)

I've just joined doing this, the cashback has tracked and hopefully I will get both the O2 discount and the cashback. Even if I only get one, £180 per year is still great for this much data!

Soon as I seen this I thought "Lovely! £120 a year, where do I sign"... But after reading its not so simple, its going threw a cashback and then you have to speak to an advisor to see 'if' they'll give me the offer you did!

Sorry but I'm out on this one.

Giffgaff gives unlimited calls and texts plus 3GB of data for £10 a month as standard without having the faff of combining deals or chatting to advisors. Giffgaff is run by O2's owners on the same network.

Yes but that's only 3gb of data. This is 20gb. And this is with O2 directly so faster data speeda/higher network priorities than giffgaff get. Plus you get customer services and all the extra O2 services like O2 WiFi, O2 priority etc

Then due to the fact that advisor has been involved cash back will not complete.

Never understood how people use such huge amounts of mobile data. Are people just too lazy to turn on the Wifi button? Do people really spend so much time away from wifi constantly streaming and downloading?

As i have a 7 bedroom mansion, the wi-fi does not reach all the way around my home, this is great.

I work in a very rural location where the WiFi speeds are truly shocking. Barely get 1mb download speeds. 4g phone signal just reaches though is much faster than the sketchy WiFi, so I use 4g as its faster (and much cheaper)
All done as described! Thanks op!

Start the chat on the O2 site and load the Topcashback separately, I did it on mobile and it was simple enough. It took about 5 mins.
Guessing it excludes tethering?

Nope. Tethering is included. I double checked that. Also although 12 month contract, they will let you cancel after 3 months if you switch to a pay monthly deal with o2 instead (backup plan in case my handset dies)
Thanks for taking the time to post, it’s always useful to get a heads up for when my contracts up.
Reasonable deal but not everyone can get it. Sometimes topcashback doesn't track properly and it takes ages to claim it
plusnet 5gb ultd texts/mins £10 30day contract
Ah man I’ve just upgraded my contract, from 12gb for £18 to 20gb for £20 the other day. I wonder if I get on live chat and threaten to cancel within the cooling off period they might offer me a few months free

Risky. The cashback might not track.

Why wouldn't it? I completed the transaction and it has registered on my TCB account immediately.
My Vodafone contract also ends in April and via online chat I was offered 3 months waiver on any SIM deal. Does it definitely track @ £60.00 for the 20GB £20 pcm offer and not £45? Is the track based on the original full price?
If you took the deal now but can't kick Vodafone into touch for several weeks (like me) what happens with the new O2 SIM, they don't activate or charge you until you port your number over or what?

The o2 sim comes activated imediately but on a temporary number. They give three months free to cover the remaining contract with Vodafone. You can port your Vodafone number once your Vodafone contract is up = unless you want to buy your contract out early which will cost you,

It's tracked £60 on topukcashback for a few people but you won't see that money for a few months (fingers crossed you get it at all)
Thanks op. No idea why this is cold.. but hey ho, contacted virgin to leave, they slashed my price to 10 a month after quoting your deal. Thanks a lot 😁🖒
