So after looking for a sim for my dad to make sure I could keep in touch with him over the next while, I found this one "CALLS & TEXTS BUNDLE", from O2 that gives Unlimited Calls & Texts for £5 a month. I then noticed that after topping up £10, he is given £10 free credit. This means that for four months of him using the sim, it will only cost £10 (or effectively £2.50 a month) and then £5 a month after that. Compared to the cost of his BT package which he uses just for calls, this is a massive saving.

3430452.jpg
You essentially receive the sim in the post, top it up online and then you get the £10 free credit in addition to your £10 minimum topup which is brilliant and means he can always get in touch with me and his family and we can get in touch with him.

"Free Credit: Claim £10 free credit when you order a Pay As You Go sim on a £5, £10, £15, £20 or £30 Big Bundle from o2.co.uk/freesim and activate your sim by topping up with £10 credit.

To claim, activate a new qualifying SIM and then text FREE10 to 21500 within 28 days of ordering your SIM. Text must be sent from and Free Credit will only be paid to, the mobile phone number on the new qualifying sim.
"

Each bundle lasts for 30 days so you will essentially get 4 x 30 days usage.

It takes 1-2 days for the sim to arrive and you can topup online

And don’t expect WiFi calling to work well. I always advise people on o2 to always call twice, once to wake phone up then again to make the connection!

The charge is £5 per 30 days. If you top up £10 and then get £10 free credit this will leave you with 4 lots of 30 days for £10
Looks like 123 sim no longer available so could get this instead 1p mobile

Sorry yeah i got my head round that after I had a closer look
Anyone tested 5G on O2?
This is a great deal, especially for kids/grandparents who have no data requirements. After researching previously I couldn't find anything better on the market.

The 123 is the O2 Classic tariff. There are still some SIMs available on eBay that use that (legacy) tariff.
This has been out there for a good while, i have it for 4 months and while there is no Data included it is a good deal if you use mainly for calls.

My use is very similar we just use it infrequently in a spare phone. I believe you just need to use it every 6 months to keep it active.

Sorry for newb question but how?
Thanks ordered a £5 big bundle for my 78 year old mum who is sheltering at home, sim arrived on friday, the offer was not listed when i ordered last week but i sent the claim text and now have the extra 10 in my account for her. She used to be on £1 a week deal with EE for 100 min which more than what she needed but she kept not pressing the end call button properly and ended up using up all her minutes and £15 of credit in one call. So this is a far better deal for her. Only thing, i cant get through to O2 to port her old number, wont accept my call due to high volume and i sent a DM on twitter on sat am and no one responded yet, but hey ho

Better then have no signal at all like Three mobile.
Also worth noting the possibility - if you sign up for My O2 you might get another £5 free credit. I know this works on their “international” pay & go sims.

Also, Quidco/TCB usually offer £5 Cashback on a topped up pay and go sim.

Most networks usually have an online form where you can submit PAC codes these days. Might be quicker that way

Well this isn't necessarily the case.

Yes you can't get one direct from 3, but you can certainly get one from a reseller who has stock, and there are plenty that do.

I bought a couple only a week or so ago and they were activated with a £5 topup.

Advice, get one now before the old stock runs out.

Yip. Been using since release.
No issues. Coverage slowly expanding.
Still a great way to expand your coverage as it's still very "quiet".
Speed - max seen 500/40. Way more than enough.

Yes you are right new customers might as well opt for a 30 sim with Three. It’s a shame as it was ideal for low users
Anyone used 1p mobile before. Seems brilliant value for pay as you go?

Many people will be at home using their wifi connection. If you don't have wifi you'll need to use mobile data, which isn't included in this deal. In that case using the unlimited texts in this deal would be better.
