Im confused

So are u saying we have to pretend to be an employee of the NHS to get the discount? I'm not willing to commit fraud just to get a discount.

On the site there is no mention of a payslip

The site states:

Simply enter your mobile number and we'll text you a unique code. Take this into any O2 store or call O2’s telesales team on 0800 5884212 (New Customers) or 0800 0321402 (Upgrading/Existing O2 Customers) to get the offer.

Don't forget that you can share our offers with up to 5 friends and family, too. Just enter their numbers and we'll do the rest.

to use it instore you need 2 forms of ID. heres a list of other organisations though apparentlythey all get different perks.

From O2 site

Please take along:
• Your O2 Open code.
• Two proofs of identity – e.g. driving licence, recent utility bill, valid passport or council tax bill if you wish to purchase a contract phone.
• Your PAC code (if you want to keep your number).
• Bank or credit card details will be required to complete the direct debit mandate.
• If you are under 18 you will need a guarantor who will be responsible for the credit agreement.

Then the subject line should have said that (it now does as someone has clarified the previous implied message of everyone qualifying for a discount by all saying they 'worked' for the NHS)

Why assume it's fraud in the first place?

That thought never crossed my mind.

Sad if anyone who isn't applicable tries to claim this offer. There's a reason why such deals are offered such as this and tickets for heroes, as most staff in these roles do a tough job for a tiny wage. Fleecing these people off may bring about an end to these deals for those that are applicable.

One must buy direct from O2 to get this. Considering they charge a premium compared to places like P4U, it isn't worth it

I actually work for the NHS and I tried getting this discount last year, I was told it was all fine at point of sale and even showed my payslip to prove i was NHS staff but when my first bill came through no discount was applied, when i rang them they said they needed some special code from my company but my company had no code so i got no discount, now just waiting out my contract so i can leave them.

So this may not work as they may ask you for a code at a later date.

Well, Ok It's not Fraud. But it is cheating..

If you have to get this discount in store you have to show your identity proof Unless the o2 store assistant is happy to cheat o2

Or if work for nhs? You, family and friends can get 25% off all contracts over £30 a month on ORANGE. I'm on a £41 a month contract and I only pay £30pm. Great deal

If you're on O2 already do they give you £75 account balance? Confused...

Or is this like £75 cashback when buying a new contract?

id like to know too. if I'm already on o2 contract can i still get the discount. it'll more than offset o2's tariff increase in February

according to this its only available for new customers and upgrades.

Gosh I almost wish I had not posted this now.

I work for the NHS and had hoped that it would help the thousands of people who also work for the NHS and their friends.

It is only for new contracts.

I did not ask you to apply if you do not work for the NHS - if you wish to cheat/defraud that is on your head.

Thanks OP. Don't let the banter get you down, this is dead useful. My Mrs & I both work for the NHS & were looking at the HTC One X+ 24m deal for £15.50 pm (£16 when they raise prices in Feb) 200min 500MB & £105 handset price. Hoping they'll honour the £75 as its a discounted over £20 pm deal but we'll see tomorrow. Even if only £50 I'd prefer to do it this way than Quidco etc. If anyone has a better option for those seeking a contract with this or an S3 please set me straight & I'll follow the advice.

Can u get money off ur O2 bill for ur partner if u work for nhs as he has 2 contracts one for me and one for himself also do u get it if ur on nhs bank
