Found 23rd Oct 2016
A few months ago i signed up to the 12 month sim only contract that got me unlimited mins/texts with 4GB data for £19pm. Yesterday i walked past an O2 shop and spotted that they were offering the "Big Bytes" deal that gives you unlimited mins/texts but 10GB data for £18pm (12 month contract) - came home, straight on the web chat and they sorted it out for me there and then. Offer ends on the 26th October.

tesco who use o2's network will offer you 12gb for £17.50. 5000 mins and 5000 texts (which is pretty much unlimited as no body will use that.....

Good shout - unfortunately i was only 3 months into a 12 month sim only contract so couldn't cancel it.

A few months ago I signed upto unlimited calls and text, plus 20gb data for £20.

Clearly you missed out.

I even got £50 through Quidco.

They are different networks. Just because it's "powered by" a bigger network, these virtual operators don't get the same bandwidth / priority on the masts as tier 1 providers.
This is without even getting into the termination point of the data, which is handled by the MVNO and not the provider. See the many issues on Giffgaff over the years with data, yet they didn't happen on o2....

A MVNO is not the same as the native network for its performance when talking about data.

With who ?

Recently took this deal out and got £40 back through quid as well. o2 are the only operator who provide signal in my workplace so was good for me. Did see the 20gb for £20 a few months back and still kicking myself for not taking it but hey-ho!
Another added bonus is o2 priority moments as well, don't get that with Tesco mobile.

Cos they are the best.
I went with every other provider over the years as they were all cheaper. Went onto O2 aftet seeing the 20gb deal on here and never looked back.

If what the O2 online helpdesk bloke told me is correct, I have just got this for £15/m - I had the previous £12.50 500MB tariff but with £3 "loyalty discount" (even though I was a new customer when I took it out), and I was told that the £3 loyalty would carry over if I upgraded. I was only 3 months into the contract and there were no early termination fees despite what the online chat person tried to tell me as I was going through the online process.

I'm not wholly confident that what he told me was correct, but you do get 14 days change-of-mind and I'm keeping the chat transcript in case they don't transfer it - but figured I would give a heads-up to anyone in similar situation. I'm a hostage to O2 in my local area, and sick of being ripped off as a result!
