For those who were able to get the o2 simplicity 10 deal you can now add 500 mb for an extra £5.11 and NOT loose your original bolt on, which in my case was unlimited o2 to o2 calls

To do this call up o2 customer services and ask about adding data to your plan, if you have unlimited o2 to o2 calls this would normally be removed, but if you ask they will keep it added!

I know this is quite niche but its a good deal for those who can get it!

So now for £15.33 (VAT increase)

300 minutes
unlimited texts
unlimited o2 to o2 calls
500 mb data

I'm on this plan and it was always possible to add data for an additional £5pm. What I'd like to do is swap my unlimited land-line calls for data, but they won't allow it on this plan.

yes always possibly but you would loose your original bolt on if it were o2 to o2 call, not sure if you would loose your landline if that was your bolt..... you can easily check by going to myo2 and adding data to your basket, then it pops up your other bolt on will be removed

My bolt-on is unlimited landline calls. I rang O2 last week to ask about adding the 500MB data bolt on and was told as well as having to pay the extra £5.11 a month, I had to give up my unlimited landline calls to. SO for an increase in monthly charges, O2 want to give me less. Cheeky bar stewards. I told them to sod off. I'll go with GiffGaff instead.

They did exactly the same to me last week too!

I was on the original £10 a month deal which was

300 anytime mins
unltd txts
unltd 02-to-02 calls

Also got £100 Quidco cashback. Yep, effective cost would be £20 for the whole year.

6 months in to the contract I added the unltd internet (500mb) for £5 a month taking monthly tariff to £15 a month so this has been available for some time.

in month 10 of the contract I asked for a blackberry phone contract upgrade which O2 agreed to. So, for the £10 contract (6 months @ £10 = £60 + 4 months @ £15 = £60 less £100 cashback) cost me a wholesome £20 for the 10 months.

After my early upgrade O2 gave me
500 anytime mins
Unltd txt
Unltd O2-to-O2 calls (of which I use at least 1000 every month)
500mb Internet Data
Free WiFi (which I do use albeit not a great deal)
Free Blackberry Services
Free Blackbery Pearl 9105 Phone (New)

All for £25 a month and I've asked for the £60 cashback offer.

I have the online 10 deal, and was going to add this to my account as im getting a orangr sf,,ive not gone though with it yet but its there to bolt on,i did not realise you had to give up a free botl on,that just sound really bad on o2's part..ill ring them tomorrow hopefully get on it without loosing out

im on the pay mothly plan 10
300 minutes
ulimited texts
o2 to o2 calls
i called for the 500 mb internet as i just got a blackberry for additional cost of 5 quid.
they said they cant do that they will have to take my o2 to o2 calls off. so i argued saying i use that bolt on alot then i argued so you want me to get a seperate sim card to use my internet which means i have to carry 2 different phones which was pointless when i just needed one. then i said you want me yo pay more for less. then i jus said look i wanna cancel my account as orange is offering me better (which was made up). after a while the fella said illl take your o2 to o2 calls off to put your 500mb internet bolt on on and then ill put yor o2 to o2 back on the following day.
now i got the internet unlimited o2 to o2 and unlimited text n 300 minutes all for 15.32

PS i did this yestaday which was the 14th of january 2011
just gotta say the right things

are you in the 12 month contract peroid??i say this as i still have 2.5 months to go.

result-emailed them telling them i wasnt happy to loose theo2 to o2 calls from my account, and they have added the 500mb to it keeping it,,cheers op have some heat

Blowed if I can get the beggars to do it for me.

I tried to pay for the data bolt-on to a Simplicity 10 tariff and had the same problem. It says you have you lose your exiting bolt-on (which was free when you signed up). Very unfair. As somebody's already said - you pay more, you get less.

I phone up Customer Services and got the stock answer: "Sorry, the data bolt on is not compatible with the existing bolt on. Protest that you know it can be done, and should be done. They will speak to their supervisor/team-leader who will confirm that it can and will be done. Get the name of the team leader in case they don't keep their word.
