I can't find better

Similar price to 3 but not as long a contract...where did you get offered it?

Nice offer! Being on O2, and for the same usage as 3. Short contract and will no doubt include Wifi from Cloud Networks

Don't 3 do £15 for 15gb on pay as you go

3 does £15 for 5GB on 30 day contract, you have to lock in for long term to get £15 for 15GB

...cheapest deal I've seen on here, in comments on other boards, was a gifgaf (quidco £1 + £4 on activation) sim with £10 unlimited internet goodybag, in a mifi.....

shame o2 has terrible 3G network near me.

Not bad. Just make sure you are going to get good 3G reception where you will be.

Three has been surprisingly good, with HSPDA in places I wouldn't expect

It's £15.99 for 5GB + £4.99 for the dongle. Having just ordered one of these last week, the Standard Dongle that Three are providing supports HSPA+ and I'm getting about 5MBps out in the countryside (albeit with 2 Three masts *relatively* nearby - they really have improved their network coverage in recent years!!).

Don't you have to keep making a call in the phone for this to work...other than cancel the sim? as its not meant for data.

Is it really possible to use any where near 15GB a month on a phone?

What?

Since when was mobile broadband for phones? mobile broadband is for dongles for laptops, or for use in ipads e.t.c

Not a bad deal, but o2 have terrible 3G speeds in my area, vodafone are by far the best dongles i've used.

But you cant use giffgaff sims to tether you mobile so this wouldn't be any good

Personally suggest getting an unlocked 3 MiFi off eBay for less than £60 and using a Giff Gaff sim on the £10 bundle. They say no tethering but it's worked for me for the last couple of months, and only costs £10 a month for unlimited internet. I get HSDPA and it's faster than my home broardband!

o2 deal over a year = £180
Giff Gaff + MiFi = £120 + £57.99 = £177.99

I travel around the country as part of my job and have an o2 dongle for work, and a personal 3 Mi-Fi.

The o2 coverage is awful - you can only use it in large towns and cities. Truly pathetic coverage.

The 3 Mi-Fi has excellent coverage, however in busy locations like hotels, it's slow - the o2 performance in these locations is much better.

So it's a toss up between better performance on the o2 network when you can get a signal vs far superior network coverage with 3 but poor performance in busy locations.

Tethering is not allowed on that tariff.

Thanx for ur replies guys.

I am also due an upgrade on my mobile phone so I was considering getting the sim only Three One plan. It's unltd net and allows tethering. I have an iPhone and a htc so I can just tethering by making a wifi hotspot. Good idea?

that doesnt allow you to access a lot of sites. Gambling and torrent sites for one. or two

Do they block those sites? You could connect to a VPN on a home computer to work around this.

my mistake it was ipad microsims that were 10gb for £15

MiFi is wayy better than a dongle - I can wirelessly connect 5 devices to my T-Mobile MiFi with unlimited data for £10 a month.

Decent amount of usage, but o2 give away their data allowance anyway because they know no one could possibly use it all.

I had 4gb for a month, ending up using less than a gig in that month since I had to turn images off to even load websites (oh, and o2 compress all images regardless of how good your 3G connection is to make it seem faster).

3 have been far better, from o2's 3-5k/s to 100k/s at peak times and over 400k/s in the day.

Take a three pay&go sim card with the one plan. £15 a month. Get a mifi or a dongle off ebay and put your sim card into it. Job's a gooden. Unlimited data for £15 a month, and no contract

This is a cracking deal for that allowance however as on commenter has already pointed out, coverage is not great on 02 which I tend to agree with.

Voted hot regardless.

O2, I heard that O2 currently upgrading its 3G NETWORK with U900 (Which will improve inbuilding 3G coverage.

Will that work in a dongle?

To the OP, make sure that you check coverage in your area on the O2 website, but remember that the results aren't 100% reliable. If you have an O2 phone you could check the quality of your internet connection by running a speed test a few times (just search for "speedtest" in the market)

We need more details about how you got the offer - I can't find it on their website

You might be better off with Three - same allowance per month and generally better coverage, but a 24-month contract

ive got 15gb for £15 from 3...
better than o2 as better 3 network!

Also, mine is on a 1month contract

not sure if it's a special deal for existing account holders but 3 offer 5gig per month on a rolling monthly contract... worth looking at, surely?

this method won't work anymore. 3 has stopped it from using in mifi/mobile broadband stick. Tethering/ wifi hotspot is fine though

Be wary though, the second your contract is up o2 will decide to severely reduce your allowance and keep the same monthly figure. That was the issue with my iPad subscription, just one day they sent an email to say they were chopping a third off my allowance. Cancelled there and then.

if that tariff is still on, and they havent changed how the sim is packaged, you can easily use it as a full size sim card. cant see there being any limits with tethering either.

I signed up to 3 on their 1 month rolling contract with 5GB for £15.99 with a free dongle - The ZTE.
Then I rang to cancel and they asked why. I said slow service, at which point they offered to send me free of charge their premium dongle Huwai E353(14.4Mb instead of 7.2 Mb I was given) and reduced the charge from 315.99 to £11.99

Thats how i got my 15gb for £15..
Told them i wasnt happy with the service as didnt work for what i wanted it to, and they offered that, got a mifi dongle and jobs a good un!

When did you sign up eagle-i? I placed an order last week for a standard dongle, and it was the Huawei E353 dongle that was supplied. I believe the premium dongle is the Huawei E367, which is able to rotate to an upright position for more convenient use in laptops etc.
HTH!
