Ok heres the SIMPLE way off getting the deal

1. Go to o2 instore and purchase the Sony Xperia Z in black or purple
make sure the package you choose on the refresh brings the total phone cost to £339.99 for New or 299.99 for Rerfub

the tarrif should cost
£17 pm tariff - unlimited mins, text , 1gb data
£99.99 upfront cost
£10 per month phone plan

some operators will say why dont you return the phone just say you sold it or its damaged
or simply NO because you want to keep it

4. Within 24 hours from when you purchase your phone take a good clear photo of your receipt & send it to topcashback for £50 snap&save here below

topcashback.co.uk/Sna…599

(£50 possible snap&save topcashback for instore purchase only)

5. Register your phone for the warranty

Bob's your uncle!
this is no glitch or a risk purchase
IT REALLY WORKS
its all in the t&c's and FAQ's

me ,family and my friends received £50-£100 cashback when we had the s4 iphone 5 deal on last month even though we cancelled on the 2 day after purchase

***After Cancelling***

just make sure you keep an eye out on your bank statements if they automatically take out payment if they do DONT WORRY!!

Go check your o2 account online and there should be credit on your account of the amount taken , what you need to do then is request that money back into your account on that same page or call o2 to get them to put it back.

This has only happened to some people because off the way o2 cancelled your contract incorrectly causing the automated system to take direct debit, however this was easily resolved by letting them know asap they are clued up on this so dont worry

just remember always talk to the o2 "refresh team" and not just o2

For details on how the o2 refresh works please check the links below

If this is direct from O2, the bootloader will not be unlockable.

I just checked in store. A purple one was unlockable-no. But the black was unlockable-yes.

Best to check, if your in interested in this at the time of purchase.

I may have missed this but, surely if you use the sim you will be charged a full months airtime. And will the cashback still payout when you cancel?

"take a photo of your receipt within 24 hours with your 13 mega pixel Xperia Z camera and send it to topcashback for £50 snap&save"

T&Cs say this has to be done within 24 hours of purchase.

Worth selling my HTC One and giving this badboy a go?

Don't forgot this phone is waterproof! Excellent device well worth the price, updated to 4.2.2 android officially! I'd have over the S4 and iPhone, but great battle for the HTC One

So this is just an update to say that this is on o2 refresh? Personally I thought it was already on/had been posted. Also the RRP's more like £450-£500 no? At least 6 months ago it was. Good in depth deal though

I like to experiment, not just with phones...

Turd phone couldnt bear the quite tinny speaker and rubbish battery life no more.Sold mine and bought the s4.Only 2 phones worth buying the s4 and the htc one.

This phone is last gen, S3/HOX+ etc. It is not comparable to the S4 or the HTC One, despite the blatherings of the guy who posted the deal.

s4 is crap, slow and only keeps charge for half a day. wish I had stuck to my note 2

Loads of updates? There wasn't with the Sony Xperia I had - took 10 month's after Jellybean was released (it only got ICS 3 months after JB was released) to start rolling out on my model and another 4 months before it actually got to my phone even though it was a sim free unlocked version with no network stuff on it.

Brilliant phone, bet the people who are slagging off the battery either don't have one or had something like 20+ applications running at once. Many apps = battery drain! My Z outlives my other family member's iPhones easily. And it's waterproof.

Don't need this but it's good to know. Didn't realise O2 were shooting themselves in the foot over pricing so much with phones on this refresh doodah.

The unlockable bootloader is a HUGE thing to keep in mind though. Can't flash without it! O2 are the only network that point blank refuses to unlock it for you, as I've found out to my cost in the past. I'll be very wary buying any Droid from them in future personally as I like to tinker with my tech.

The £50 topcashback can give you up to £200 in Tesco clubcard deals.

I've just looked that up as well...

Even though the phone has a locked bootloader (you can check by entering *#*#7378423#*#* in dial pad and see under configuration if bootloader=yes), I think there's a root exploit so at least you should be able to root the phone, but no custom ROM fun unfortunately. Unless Sony have closed the loophole.

There was no way to do this on the Xperia S that I got from them. Tried hi and lo to find a way. Whinged like a little girl at them in-store, online, on the phone and via email too - they were not budging at all with unlocking it, even though Sony supported an official way of doing it themselves. If I ever get another phone from O2 then this will be the very first thing that I'll check. It's lovely they'll network unlock your phone for free but no unlocked bootloader is a deal breaker for me.

Yeah deal breaker for people that want to mod their phones, however it's a decent deal for everyone else. Still very irritating that they lock the bootloader, means that the phone really isn't fully yours in a manner of speaking.

Great phones, bought one last week and very impressed with it.

I've had this phone since March, apparently there was a server issue with UK updates for the longest time, lot of Europeans got all the updates while UK was stuck on #1, but it's been resolved now and the UK has the latest updates. That being said I'd consider the Nexus 5 which should be around the corner, October release and should be priced in a similar area

I agree this is a great deal for people who don't want to flash their Z. And it's a brilliant phone, it really is. I'd choose this over any phone that's currently out, except the HTC One (yes, even over the S4). It may not quite be an equal to the S4 and HTC One but I love what Sony have been doing since they split from Ericcson with developing their handsets. The design and build quality are rivalled only by HTC and Apple. If you can get this for under £350 and end up with £50 of TCB credit being worth up to £200 in Tesco vouchers or Clubcard spending then it's a fantastic deal!

I had this ("it's my phone!") argument with O2 many times. I lost. They lost me as a future customer though until their bootloader policy changes (or I find a handset from them where it's not locked).

Can the Z4 reach 4G speed when the networks start supporting it this year?

nice phone but too angular and therefore uncomfortable to hold.

waterproofing is good but gimmicky and you cant used the phone for a few hours till the speaker dries out
