This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Prices may rise annually - full details here

Mobile contract providers tend to increase your monthly tariff by inflation - and exactly which measure depends on the network:

Three: a Fixed Annual Price Change, 4.5% this year.
O2: RPI plus 3.9%.
EE, Vodafone: Consumer Price Index plus 3.9%.

The date of the adjustment also varies by provider:

Three: April
O2: Announced in Feb, effective from April
EE: Announced in Jan, effective from March
Vodafone: Announced in Jan, effective from April

What is Sim only?

SIM only is just that, where you only pay for the minutes, texts, and data you use on your sim-card.

You will have to supply your own device i.e phone/tablet to insert the sim-card into, hence why it's called 'sim only'

Try a PAYG, thats what i did.Averaged about 45mbps but even up to 100mbps in the right spot. If you look on o2 coverage website & select ‘masts’ see how far your nearest one is too. Plus your priority rewards will cover what you spent on the PAYG 😏

For the people asking, you will lose your volt benefit temporarily after upgrading but will then reapply within 14 days.

My previous volt boosted 30GB allowance has temporarily dropped to 20GB since swapping over

Exactly. Bought £10 PAYG card for testing and already had two coffees and pizzas in Gregg's. By end of the month, I will get around £20 of Priority perks. Also got £5 bonus from o2, so switched to £5 tariff for next month and will use more perks.

And in the meantime, got sim only contract, after checking network coverage and speed. (edited)

I would be interested in moving to this deal if it can be confirmed as Volt eligible i.e. I would get 40Gb data. Can anyone confirm this is definitely Volt eligible? When I went through the process no mention of Volt benefits came up and so I stopped short of proceeding.

I pressed ahead anyway and on successful checkout got the following:

"Got Virgin Media broadband at home? If so, you could get exclusive Volt benefits for being with both Virgin Media and O2. As long as your Virgin Media broadband and Pay Monthly mobile accounts are registered using the same name and address"

So, looks like everything OK and this is Volt eligible.

Yes if you are a current O2 customer with another Sim only contract in place you can just take up the offer from USwitch and then in the checkout process it will ask you if you are an existing customer and to sign in. Once signed in, it will update your existing contract. I did this myself earlier today, and now have more data and another 3 months disney plus, for no extra charge. However I am not 100% sure I will escape the RPI increase as this might be considered an "upgrade" rather than a "new contract".

Sadly one of my comments here was removed. I was trying to warn people about uncertainty of this whole thing. I called O2 and first person said "likely I shouldn't be subject to price rise" and when I asked for manager as it wasn't good enough for me manager didn't know too...I hope you'll be safe from it.

Thanks. I actually spoke to them and they confirmed due to this change I am NOT subject to the price rise this April. So this is a no-brainer if you are already on O2 really!

It's a price increase from next month for the rest of the contract that they're trying to avoid. Do keep up.

Just signed up for this after holding off for the last month! Have screenshotted the page showing price increase from April 23 so pretty comfortable I'll successfully argue against it if they do try and charge me. Thanks OP. I had this issue a few months ago , I emailed credit file referrals on the email you mention and it took them about 2 weeks to respond , they called and apologised , I was trying to get 3 sim only pay monthly contracts , they removed the block on my account and I was able to purchase , they gave me £25 credit for all the inconvenience. They I think as I was a new customer they don’t like giving out multiple contracts . I never had any credit issues before , she mentioned that it’s best to wait a month or longer in between applying .

Unusually, O2 generally allow upgrades at any stage during your contract and you can apply the upgrade through your My O2 account. By clicking on the link, you can sign up to this deal and during purchase, you will be asked to login to your account and can apply it to your existing number. By contacting O2, you will not get the best deal. If your account still shows you as eligible to upgrade, you can still do this and get the £8 deal.
