You can convert your current O2 plan to payg, purchase this new plan and then complete the "keep my number" form to replace your new number with you current one. The only thing I would look into is if doing this impacts your auto cashback. It shouldn't do.

I followed the same principles doing this on a Vodafone plan through mobiles.co.uk. Once number changes you may need to update the number on your mobiles.co.uk account

I've done this twice with O2. I just called customer service and they sorted it. No need to convert to payg or port out.

Mobiles are paying out.

You should get the cheque within 2 months, it's all automatic.
Mobiles are also owned by the Dixons Carphone group, so they should be around for a while.

Code also works for cashback by redemption (£8 discounted to £6.25 for same amount of data, but cashback by redemption instead of automatic)
I've ordered this but the extra cashback with the code isn't showing in email or account info. BS.
Hi all,

Please can someone confirm, will my bill be £9.92 a month or will it be £20 and the cashback i recieve makes it £9.92 ? trying to find the best cheapest sim only deal and if its this i'll get it.

thanks.

The monthly cost would be £20. You'd then be having the money paid reduced via cashback paid to you.

The £9.92 is the effective money payment. You will pay £20 a month but sometime in the next two months you might get £121 cashback... This makes it effectivity £9.92.
Is anyone aware if I can port my number through this provider as the contractor is not directly through O2. I couldn’t see any option while I was ordering.
How soon does this have to be activated as my current contract expires 1st March? Cheers.
I dont think I’ve seen anything cheaper from o2 ever. They have always been super expensive with the least amount of allowance

If I'm correct, it starts as soon as you receive the sim?

I'll try and find out, just to double check.

Update: I have been told by an O2 representative that the sim contact starts when the order is processed and delivered.

Hoping we can just call 02 and give them the PAC code
What happened to the other thread with the £144 cashback by redemption? It seems to have been deleted, is there a reason? as I went for that one. By the way how do we get the £21 I didn't see it mentioned anywhere but on the order screen.

Edit: it say's 'Auto cashback' so prehaps that will come from mobiles.co.uk automatically after a certain amount of time?

This is what I went for too just before Christmas. Been using them for years, no issues with cashback. As stated already they are part of the CPW group so won't go under anytime soon.

The number transfer process between your old and new providers is no different. Request a PAC from old (you can do this through text now) then once you get the new SIM (which will come with a new number) give the PAC to O2 (either call or there's an online form). I did this from Vodafone to O2 with no issues.

The additional step you have to take when doing cashback by redemption is to login to your Mobiles.co.uk account and change the number on your order so they can validate the claim correctly.

Have you used the manual cashback process before? Would be interested to hear experiences to opt for the cheaper sim.

Yes it's dead simples. You basically send a copy of your bill at specific months, normally for 12 months it will be bills 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12. They will tell you which months to send in.

All you have to do is login to your Mobiles account and there's a section for cashback, click the month you want to clain them upload a digital copy of your bill (download from your online account). You have 60 days from when it's due to send it.

Once that's done they send you a text to confirm the got it then another to day the cheque is in the post.

I've been using them for years now, never had an issue with it. Stick some reminders in your calendar to do it so you don't miss it.

Don't forget Quidco, they've always paid out so are reliable.

Thanks, that's really useful. For £40 extra a year, sounds very low effort.
