The o2 Travel deal applies to Pay and Go customers and allows relatively cheap data roaming in Europe.

Correct me if this is wrong, but I believe the o2 Travel deal - started out at £1.99 for 25MB, went down to 15MB and now is offering 50MB data for roaming in any of a list of EU countries and some others at that rate of £1.99.

I used this deal in the past when it was 25MB is it is the simplest possible way to data roam in Europe.
Looking at the Ts&Cs today (deal link), it now looks not nearly so simple though.

I am sure there will be experts along in a moment to provide more detail, but to me it looks like they've recently tripled the data allowance you get for £1.99.

PS I did the HUKD search to check this deal but the search threw up nothing on keywords o2 and travel

It's £1.99 per day with a 50MB limit is another way of wording it. Know as a contract customer the other good part of the travel deal was that each phone call cost you 50p connection charge then you can talk for up to 60 minutes for no extra charge. For myself the £1.99 was even worth it for that never mind the free data as well.

This isn't really a deal, it's just what it costs.

Not a limit as you can buy an additional 50MB blocks as needed within the same day
"If you reach the 50MB limit of your O2 Travel Daily Allowance, you will be able to reset your daily allowance by texting MORETRAVEL to 21300 for a further charge of £1.99 and you will receive a further 50MB"

What a horrible 'deal'. Mobile companies really need to stop shanking their customers with such hire roaming charges!! It would be marginally better if it was just £1.99 for 50mb without the daily time limit, but even then they're still taking the Mick!

They are ripping off PAYG customers as pay monthly customers get the deal but only have traffic management imposed after the 50mb of 'fair usage' has been used. So a PAYG customer could use 100mb for 3.98 while a Pay monthly customer could use 100mb+ (albeit possibly slower after the first 50mb) for £1.99.

Roaming, if you are not on 3 and on one of it's Feels Like Home countries IS still expensive.
So among expensive options, I'm posting what looks like one of the cheapest deals that has come down a lot from o2's previous price per MB.

If the helpful folks here can trump this with a BETTER non-3 pay as you go deal then please do!

er... Plus the monthly o2 contract of course.

I'm on 3 in the UK because it's the best data service for 3G only devices.
And pop an O2 SIM in for non-3 roaming in EU.
But thanks for all the downvotes folks, just a pity you can't suggest any better pay as you go roaming deal than this.

On 3 you can use your add on mins and texts abroad to call back home at no extra cost. The unlimited data add on is £15, you can use 25gb for the month. Calling local numbers (calling a french number if you're in France for example) 18.8p per min and 5.9p texts

But only in 3 Feel At Home countries. I'm on 3 already but posted this deal for all those EU countries where 3 Feel At Home does no apply, biggest example being Spain.
