It would as long as you call over WiFi only. Don't forget, it uses ur mobile allowance so u can ring the uk for free but not local numbers
whilst your abroad.

What does TU Go cost? Is it free?
The app itself is free. Any calls and texts you make through TU Go cost the same as they would normally on your mobile – and come out of your monthly allowance (if you've used up your monthly minutes and texts, we'll charge you the standard rate). The app also uses a very small amount of data to sync your Timeline and voicemail – this will come out of your data allowance.

not for smart phones....

That's good. Are you sure it wouldn't bar IP address' which aren't in UK?

Going away for 7 weeks in Nov/ Dec and would be really handy!

Does it works with number from Tesco or Giffgaff?

Lol sorry pal I wouldn't know. But from My understanding of it, as long as u are using wifi for your calls then there won't be any issues.

Tried using it, i could send sms over wifi, but could not make/receive calls or receive sms

Great idea in principle, but quite a lot of issues at the moment to make it not worth the while for me

I'd very much doubt it

Yes it's intended to use overseas or at that place where u can never get a signal
By local calls you mean 0845, if the number is free as part of your contract its free using this app, as long as its within your allowance/bundle

Thanks, just thought as they charge so high when using abroad they wouldn't do it. Look forward to using it now

Works perfectly on my iPhone 5 and iPad 3 over wifi. Perhaps it needs a v fast wifi/broadband?

Mine tests consistently at 75Mb/sec. Never below 70Mb/sec.

Best App & software I have downloaded in years. I have a lousy mobile phone signal at home, so this is fantastic for me.

Just tested it on my PC too now, and it works perfectly on that too.

This is so good in fact I'd switch to O2 for it.

Just had this set up last night - seemed a little iffy at first as would not connect to house phone or house phone woudl ring 30 seconds after I gave up on the phone but still playing and worked fine this morning.

Definately going to be good when abroad! Though worh pointing out that you MUST turn of data roaming and use WIFI otherwise the call cost probably be even higher!
