That is with ThomsonFly

This is not an amazing price for accomodation in the canaries.

Its getting cheap flights thats the difficulty, especially now Ryanair have pulled out of Fuerteventura.

I got it down to £33.60 per person per night for 14 nights and that includes flights!

Price below is for 2 persons.

That isnt cheap.
With my flights for £170, plus £47 for the hotel, mine works out at around £220 for two weeks, inc flights.

£47.00 x 14 nights = £658 (already more expensive then my quote)
£658 + £170 Flight = £828 ??? how is this cheaper?

We stayed there for 2 weeks last year and had a fab time. If you need to know anything about the place before booking just mail me:)

price is £47 per person for the whole 2 weeks (based on 4) not per night.

so it would be £47 x 4 = £188 for 14 nights for 4 people

A nice location - not far from what is probably the largest/least busy european (although really african) beach.

You can also take a day trip on the ferry to Lanzarote.

Its also next to the pretty weird Los Lobos islands.

HOT

Just to add to what others have said.

I stayed here 2 years ago (all inclusive) with a 3 and 1 year old,had a great time. One of the pools is heated, although it is salt water. The rooms are big and clean and come with microwave and fridge, cleaned every day etc.

Fueter itself and corralejo are a great (quiet) resort, plenty to do, although its getting a little expensive now with the strong euro (we were there again last November in the sister Oasis village)

If possible look at the all inclusive upgrade, the food is ok, and free beer is better than 3 euro beers.

I vote hot, if you can get a deal

Failing that look at Sharm el Sheikh, went in March for the first time and loved it

Slightly OT but Thomson really do have cheap offers on their site (hotel only) quite often.
I'm off on my £6.53 (£21 + 53p card charge minus £15 cashback) All Inclusive holiday to Majorca on Saturday!
Last year I got the same for £21 so it's even cheaper this year.
Sometimes it's worthwhile fiddling about with days/ weeks as some are better to book daily rates than a week.

i think this is the place i stayed in about 5 years ago that smelled like a sewer out the front. really wish i was kidding, need to see if i can confirm that or not (checking with the ex will be interesting), but it looked exactly the same.

can confirm this is not the place, my bad.

So whats the cost of food/entertainment/etc on a self catering hold for 2 weeks?

I wish I could live in my own home for £47 per week!

Fairly Hot for the price, however i went here last year and definately wouldn't go back. Don't get me wrong, the hotel was nice. Despite the fact that they put me and my girlfriend in a "Thompson the Dog" kiddies room. The main problem was the location. We wanted to go out each night to eat and drink and it was quite a long walk to the main area, a good half an hour or so to get there and not worth the walk. A lot of weirdo's knocking about, a bar man that beats his wife/bar maid up and a small down sydrome boy who hits you with his white recorder...

not exactly paradise.

For those who want a bit of info, I got this from the Travel Agents "Truth Guide" (basically is a truthful review on properties)

Opinion
A relatively upmarket self-catering choice with plenty of family related activities and amenities on hand for those that seek them. The resort style layout and spaciousness is appealing and the distance from the main beaches is well compensated by the impressive and well-designed pool areas.

Overview
A small collection of terracotta coloured 2-storey apartments with well-landscaped communal buildings in one corner. The cool and airy lobby provides a warm and efficient welcome at the reception, which occupies the whole of one side. A pizzeria and bar support the vast self-service restaurant and a show lounge is rather dark and functional looking. The impressive and extensive pool areas are enhanced by fountains and the wide surrounds have plenty of sunloungers but little shade. The exposed location would probably cause problems for parasols on windy days. The gardens, with a mini golf area, offer a display of lush subtropical vegetation.

Location
Area type: Set beside the main road, at the rear of the resort near one of the main exit roads to the airport and El Cotillo. There is a small shopping centre adjacent with its designer clothing outlet. There are more amenities on the main tourist stretch, ¼ ml away. A bus stops outside for travel to the dunes and beyond.
Distance to Beach: Corralejo dunes ¾ m

If you want a cheap holiday this is perfect. We have been there many times and it has a great location. The hotel is 5 minutes drive from what is, IMHO, the best beach in W Europe. If you want a cheap flight look at going with Iberia via Madrid - did this for £120 per person last year.
The only problem with Fuerte is the wind - it has been very windy this year and you really do need a shelter on the beach - great for kite surfing on Flag Beach though!

Ive stayed here in Nov last year, great for the price!

I have just returned from fuerte , staying near the papagayo hotel and it looks fine. My brother and his family have stayed there a few times and they think its great.

The prices in Corralejo have in the last few months really really come down for both drinks and food - most bars are now doing pints for 1.50-2 euros! (cheaper than uk??)
the spirits were 2 euros, soft drinks 1-2 euros

A lot of the restaurants and cafes are doing really cheap deals , the majority are doing 2-3 courses for €10 and theres plenty of places doing 'all you can eat' for around €8-9

also its worth asking them for free wine / sangria as most places will gladly give u freebies if you ask just to get you in!

As a comparison the hotel we stayed in was €40 per night and we thought that was a good deal!

we went there last year and think it was a nice place for the money we paid(well over this price). near a fun fair and a good street for the night time walk about and food.
