Yes they have acknowledged this and are indeed heavily influenced by the artists you mentioned BUT their tunes are actually better. Nothing the Beatles did was superior to the likes of 'Wonderwall' or 'Live Forever'.
You are entitled to your opinion, as everyone is, but you're wrong, sooo wrong.
In your opinion. Oasis had some great tracks with rubbish lyrics, so did the Beatles, the Beatles went from boy band to experimental pop quartet, what they did was revolutionary. Oasis did nothing revolutionary apart from being part of mid 90s Brit Pop. This is a classic album, I prefer their first album though. The 90s were a great antidote to the general poor quality music in the 80s.
I understand some will not like it because they just don't, a more rational person who doesn't like it would probaly appreciate why others would.
Finally, they have always been honest about their influences and the "tipping of their cap" in some songs to the beatles, and it sure as hell doesn't make don't look back in anger a bad song.
Opinions not facts my friend. I don't like the Beatles that much but even now some of their songs stand up decades after writing them so they aren't bad. I'm looking at the Beatles after decades of music between them being released though at the time some of their stuff must have seemed strange and ground breaking at the time. I like their conventional rock and roll tunes the most though!
I was a big Oasis fan I think they made about three good albums same as any other band. You look at the back catalogue of any other indie band that was popular in the nineties and the songs were more hit and miss I think. Blur/Suede/Pulp/Feeder/Ash can't compete really I'd rather listen to Oasis. Yeah they were just a popular indie band but at the time they seemed like the biggest band in the world and seemed to believe it themselves.
I remember being unhappy with the manufactured stuff on the radio they were a breath of fresh air and I played this album to death.
Have a look at the 'top' 100 songs from the nineties it's depressing:

Everything in context.
You have to understand they were one of the few 'real' bands being played on commercial radio that weren't a one hit wonder. None of this means you have to like them though.
Just watch out, if you do have an opinion on anything and share it on this site, be prepared for the onslaught
Brings back lots of good memories from back in the day. I think nearly everyone at uni back then had a copy of this on CD or tape.

Last track from Sgt Pepper, this album was a homage to pepper

Still a good deal though, if you like them and haven't got this.

Next door in the other studio in Abbey road, Syd Barrett was recording his only group album, Lennon dropped in a couple of times but briefly

Only the Beatles and Adele have sold more (non Greatest Hits) albums in the UK, so I think we are going to have to settle with 2nd best band in the UK ever but best band of the last 40 years
