LOL well worth the 10p bag of sugar.

You priced these parts up using partpicker?
awd-it.co.uk/awd…tml

Same specs £665 or swap out the processor for a i5 7400 (non k) and it will cost you £600 (good for those that don't want to overclock)
lol.

When you click on the link, I like in the description where they say

"WHY CHOOSE THE ESSENTIAL?
- HD Gaming: 1080p at 60FPS"

1080p 60 is so 5 years ago....

In a couple of months, Asus and Acer will start releasing 4K 144hz monitors.

Is this good for 4k video editing? Is it more oriented towards gaming?
"Power Supply600W 80Plus Rated PSU"

beware the ides of cheap psu

also, no way I'd waste money on a 1060 at this point, unless you're heavy into mining (i.e. for power efficiency to hash ratio)

I too would have personally built the system myself, but in any case, not everyone wants to.... I'm pretty sure the chap knows that it's cheaper to build himself if he said he changed the power supply.......

Unless i'm missing something for the same specification it's over £900 on that site you have listed.

As that uses a stock intel cooler, No SSD drive, a 1TB second hard drive oppose to a 2TB listed, No operating system etc

It'll do both jobs decent. i7 would be preferable for 4k editing. 1070 and above would be preferable for gaming.
Pretty decent price.
I'm sure the 'build it yourself' brigade also built their own home, clothes and vehicle since obviously convenience over cost isn't a factor for them.

True, didn't factor those in, you're right. Although a decent cpu cooler would cost £15 (I would go with Arctic) and an SSD is all you'd need to add (£29 for a 60gb on amazon would be fine), no need for 2TB hdd and Windows 10 is very cheap to get on Ebay for a legit copy (literally around £2), you can re use dead pc keys too. Don't get me wrong the PC in the op link is better, but if you don't want to spend £900 you can be smart about it and go for the one on awd with a few additional parts.. personally I'd rather build my own because I enjoy building PC's and bang for buck builds. Set you back about £645 as appose to £900 (which will probably give you 2 extra fps while gaming)

Don't see what's wrong with building a PC.. it's a great experience and far easier than you first think, as soon as you try it once you'll think to your self why you even thought about buying a pre-built (at least in my experience). Why people wouldn't want fully custom parts, a great experience, and all at a lower price is beyond me, but I don't mind if you prefer pre-builts, it's just the way it is.

This look quite poor value when comparing to the site you posted.

Are you going to cry next?

Convenience? It takes less than an hour to do or a lot less (if you have experience). Your paying somebody to plug things in to a motherboard. I like building my own PC as I pick the parts that I want/need rather than OCUK (in this case) getting rid of parts their struggling to sell.

I can't believe you didn't build your own car you would have saved a fortune too.

Because building a PC is so difficult these days?
Learning to play most PC games is more difficult and takes longer than building the PC you play them on, lol!

I'm thinking about selling my new Ryzen 5 1600 and MSI motherboard after 5 days. I want to go Intel i5 7600k. I'm excited already at the smell of new computer equipment. The motherboard is the x370 gaming plus although I'm keeping the ddr4 Trident ram (3200mhz) because it flashes and changes colour. It is sexy and just a shame my case doesn't have a window ha ha.

8th gen will be out before the end of the year, with 6 core i5's.
May as well wait :-) .
