Is this like the 1s that you put a phone in?
That's the regular price for the 32gb, purchased mine last week but it just says ships before 16th April havent had any other emails except order confirmation. 64gb is £189.

Is this like the 1s that you put a phone in?

No it's completely standalone, no cables no phone needed.

Yes it is, with the obvious benefit of not needing the phone.
Can you access a bluray or video file via PC or a video file via a NAS with these?

Yes, there are several apps that allow you to do this in a cinema environment too. Skybox and the Samsung video app, which are both free, are the easiest.

A good price for those that can't afford a Quest (rather than those who can't buy one because of stock shortages, in which case it's just best to keep trying).

There's a night and day difference between the Go and the Quest but the Go is still great for lightweight games and VR video watching, especially with not being able to get to the cinema and being able to feel like you're sat in a cinema seat watching a movie (including support for 3D movies), so ideal at this price.
What are good headsets for docking your phone in and using that?

Gear vr is being phased off and only supports certain phones.

I would like a vr headset that as Good as the go but using mobile instead

What argos deal can you post link?
I bought this for the £199 when it came out and i stil use it, fantastic bit of kit for watching movies and TV shows on, your own personal imax, and it even does 3D movies with ease....so this £140 is a bargain.
This guy is working on getting it working with Half Life: Alyx. What a legend!

Hi if you watch an 1080pHD movie on this does it still look in HD when watching on these or does look more SD/ fuzzy?
I was going to buy this but having had a PSVR, I knew I would be disappointed with it so went for the Quest.
I think for just watching vr content or virtual tours etc, this is a great item and a good price.

I have a Quest and the picture quality for films is bearable but the screen door effect shouts at you constantly and it's nowhere near HD.

No way can a screen designed to cover your whole field of vision and move constantly have enough pixel density to watch a film on without you being conscious of the downgrade.

I think the Go is supposed to be a bit better but don't expect perfect crispness from that either.

The software that shows you the films like Skybox VR is really good but it's a generation or two away from replacing a TV if you're an image queen.

I like the idea so much I fiddled with dedicated video headsets like the Royole Moon. They really are HD but the screen is way smaller in your field of vision and the design, both physical and software, is shonky.

Great price, but totally obsolete now. Save up for Quest, you'll not regret it.
If anyone can find a Quest that would be useful, looks like no stock anywhere.
I love the OculusGo it is very easy to set up and watch films through the Skybox Cinema app. Image quality is pretty good but the feeling of watching a film in a cinema is amazing. I’ve used this for about 18mths and the battery lasts a hour, wish it would last longer. I have a HTCVive headset for other gaming but TBH that takes too long for me to be bothered to set up all the time and the cables are a pain. I’m not sure what the difference is between the Go or the Quest?

If you have a Samsung, GearVR. GearVR and Daydream for Pixel phones were the main (only?) two viable options, and both are obsolete. Having used a Daydream with my Pixel 2 and getting a GearVR (second hand from CEX) for my S10 5G, the GearVR experience was far better.
If you like that bar low, then this will get you there.

legend really?, it'll be a pauper poor experience, clunky, painful and frustrating. This legend you speak of is just fumbling around, hasn't a clue.

Thx pb something for me to consider when I'm not on lockdown......shame I didn't have one before. Not even allowed to open the door for a delivery without grief right now
I'd be worried and wary about support and updates on this. I thought I already saw that oculus were withdrawing both.
dont think work with BD file

There aren't any that compare to Go. Gear VR is/was the closest.

They’re still supporting it but not making new apps, they’ve left it open for third parties but their money is on the Quest and its forthcoming replacement. Thankfully they’re not Google and won’t just abandon it completely
Picture quality isn't brilliant but the SBS 3D works well.

The screen/optics quality and resolution, movement sensitivity and accuracy, specialised motion controller, quantity and quality of apps... All far superior on Go compared to mobile vr (other than Gear vr).

That's what I mean it's so close to the gear vr , I have a samsung phone but gear vr is being discontinued the mid range Samsung's A series a50 a70 a80 etc all have good screens

I don't know how the movement sensors compare or how it works exactly I know theres a accelerometer magnet but how doe the go track in comparison?

I would buy a gear vr but you cant use it like a go on newer samsung phones I wonder if theres away around it maybe mod or app

With a great vr solution it would work out far less costly and have pretty much same games

There isn't a way around it, if you don't have a compatible Samsung phone, you can't use gear vr. A gear vr + compatible phone will cost far more than this Oculus Go.

i have read on reddit of users buying a headset and plugging in the usb c port and it works powering the internal
sensors inside the headset and even the touchpad on the side of the headset works

however you would need to then use apps to stream the content from your PC to the headset via wifi to your mobile

it is not a plug and play setup its more about modding and tweeking things

i think i could do it not sure what the results would be but worth the effort im sure, one person said they even got the gear vr
app to launch maybe you just have to make your phone tell the app its a different phone i think that must be it

I have both Quest & Go, and you are wrong. For movies and stationary content, Go is generally better - lighter, better image quality, and much MUCH cheaper. Don't get Quest unless you need the gaming & ability to walk around.
