I guess it’s cheaper than a lobotomy
Ooh, that is now seriously tempting. Especially with 5 monthly payments of £28!

Someone convince me not to 🙈
Argos are also at £139.99 so for those preferring JL you should be able to get an easy price match

quest costs more but a lot closer to wireless vr gaming than this which is more like the Gear VR or cheapo VR that you put your phone in

Get PSVR, lots of deals, get a bundle with motion controllers (x2), i've got that plus the aim controller. Quiet a few games on it and more coming all the time.

How do I go about getting the monthly payment option? Had amazon for years, never seen that. 😁

Do it, i was shocked at just how good the ageing PSVR looks and performs with the PS4 Pro. I've owned all the Oculus headsets and most of the Windows Mixed Reality headsets, the PSVR certainly holds it's own. The Go is great for casual media consumption but it isn't for gaming, the far more expensive Quest can only compare to the PSVR when it's connected to a gaming PC, as a standalone the graphics are seriously limited by the old Snapdragon mobile processor.

I spend quite a lot of money and have prime so it may be specific accounts only. It just shows below the price for me

Quest is an upgrade on this - I owned this for a few months and it was good fun until the novelty wore off. Basic difference - with this you stay in one position and use the remote to navigate; with Quest, I believe you can actually move around so greater immersion (I forget the proper term). Plus, I’d assume more games being developed for it, bigger memory, etc.
PS VR
Oculus go
Quest

the question we all want to ask is which one's best for adult fun then?

Since it is limited in the graphics, how about sideloading apps such as Micosoft game streaming or Nvidia Geforce Now where you can stream xbox or PC games? Do you know it it works? Also how about Shadow PC in the cloud and a GTX GPU streaming to the go?
Thanks

The Go is the winner. All can play the same resolution files but the Go is by far the most comfortable and versatile for media consumption.

I said it's limited as a stand alone, if you have a gaming PC then it's a different matter, but then of course it's tethered and you still have the weight and limitations of a battery. Wireless streaming of VR games is not a serious option at the moment, you will have to wait for PSVR2 for that. The Xbox doesn't do VR and neither will the new console according to MS.

Thanks, I wasn't looking for or indeed interested in VR games, just using it a a big screen while say in a hotel and connecting it to my phone with unlimited data. That way i can take a xbox controller, my phone and the go for bigger screen gaming. The gaming PC is in the cloud.

I really think the GO was before it's time with cloud gaming coming in now.

I picked up the go and sideload some apps and set up virtual desktop to connect to a shadow pc in the cloud. I can now play xbox xcloud streaming on the oculus TV using the android app. Just connect a xbox controller and away you go. Screen is about 100 inch.

Also with virtual desktop i can log into the cloud pc and stream steam and geforce now games and control with the xbox controller and use the wand as a mouse in windows 10.

I would say it a good purchase for my needs and now can play my games on a huge cinema screen.

Doesn't seem to be the server app for Mac. vrdesktop.net/

But they give a suggestion for using an alternative.

6DOF is the term for walking around, which means six degrees of freedom.

The Quest is better if you can stretch the extra cash, or a second hand Rift for £200 and a gaming PC
These will be £99 soon enough.
98097110/01/2020 07:32

When?

I don't know - I'm not a retailer. But it is inevitable. With the Quest out these just don't cut it at all.
