The Climb is a must try if you get this.

it let's you use the headset with a pc to act as a full oculus rift. if you have a pc with a good graphics card 970 or higher then definitely give it a go. I used to have an oculus rift cv1 but with all the cables and sensors I never used it as it was such a hassle to setup, with this I just connect the single usb cable when I want to play a pc vr game.
Well recommended! Just saved £40 off an Oculus Quest from eBay Argos Store, ready to collect now!... awesome A++++

Which cable do you need? Is a type c to type c or a type a to type c? My graphics card has a type c output so would type c to type c be the right one?

Wireless is another option.

Just loaded virtual desktop on mine but will be buying the 5m official fibre cable next year once I fit a 1660 or 2070.

Cool. Had mine for 7 weeks now, bought on another ebay 10% deal. Glad I resisted temptation and did not open it before xmas

c to c is probably the best but at the moment it will only use usb 3.0 speeds whcih a usb a to c cable will supply. I have only tried the amazon basics cable which works. whatever you buy make sure it says at least 3.0 or 3.1 speeds. A few other cables I had in my house didn't work including the usb c to usb c cable than came with the quest and my macbook pro usb c to usb c charging cable (I think both are listed as ucb 2.0 though so I didn't expect them to work)

yea I'l like to try it but couldn't be bothered to set it up, the cable is super easy and looks better than my old cv1 rift so more than happy with that for now. I can't imagine the wireless option would be any good unless you can make a direct 5ghz connection to the pc and even then sureley the quality wont be as good and there will be added lag?

Thanks, just been reading up on it. Oculus say the cable the provide with the headset is only 2.0 so that why it won’t have worked. They tested internally with anker cables and found they worked well so I will probably go with that, but I think I’d liked an angled cable preferably so still shopping around atm. I’ll give wireless a go first and if it’s good enough to tide me over till oculus release their cable I might just wait it out
Would this work with my core 2 duo CPU, 4gb ram pc lol
Is it just click and collect?
I've just got mine!
EDIT* No, they cancelled my order and gave a full refund

Is this the follow up to the oculus rift or is this the portable one I heard about. Will it be able to handle all the games? There nothing better planned to be released is there?
Had to try 4 different stores, but think I've managed to get one now. Good luck people.
Novelty wears off pretty quickly. I've had mine since August and alot of the games are more like experiences and alot can be completed in under a couple of hours. Mine doesn't get used half as much as it did when I first got it. When I first got it I had the wow factor. Now that's gone its just meh. Good deal tho.

make sure you don't order the anker powerline+ even though amazon says its a new release of the recommended cable it's actually usb 2.0 and won't work. I'l like to try the oculus cable but at £80 or whatever its meant to cost I think I'll make do with my £9 cable, might try adding an active 3.0 repeater, apparently they work
This is a great deal. It often goes out of stock and used ones sell for this much on eBay! Also, if you get it, you should get beatsaber and use sidequest to install BMBF and allow custom songs. This gives it hours and hours of value on its own. There are lots of great games. They may not be as big as pc games but still offer hours of fun. As the quest is getting really popular, the number and variety of games is only going to increase.

This is stand alone. You don't need a pc, so pretty much. I got it as I wanted to play some VR games like Beatsaber, but couldnt justify (read convince the Mrs) getting a gaming PC to play. The Mrs and I both really enjoy it and it's amazing for showing friends and family!

Oh wow good shout, I had added the powerline+ to my basket thinking it was the same cable but just red. It seems the one I need (just powerline) is out of stock until the 17th. And yes the price is definitely a bit off putting. Would I be fine plugging into an anker usb 3 hub instead of directly to my PC? If so I could get away with just a 2m cable as my play area is quite small and I will be using the link for be racing where I am sat down anyway
Fab I gave in and bought it full price last week and returning it today lol. Managed to order and reserve at this price 😁Thanks
