Well the word compatibility is the wrong word to use tbh, lol, I knew what he meant but he made it sound like its a hard search or something

You'd need a minimum of:
NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 470 or greater as the Graphic card, and even then, not all games run well on this card (i've tried it)

Intel i3-6100 / AMD FX4350 or greater Processor.
8GB RAM.

So no not any PC is compatible. Not many people have PCS capable of using VR yet.

This deal for the rift is nice but there is also a nice deal out for the vive at the moment. The rift has a few downsides imo

Haha I've spent ages looking for the right pc, can't quite commit so hopefully once I've got the headset, it'll force me to make a decision

Any recommendations?

Nice one man. Tried ordering from oculus and there were all sorts of problems. Ordered. Thanks OP

More is more! The better the pc, the more you can supersample which makes a big difference to how stuff looks.

Keep an eye out for Alienware outlet deals. Had a super spec one to run my Oculus for a very good price.

Cheers for that. I was checking as well and have just bought it. Cancelled my earlier order @ £390 so I'm very happy.

Technically no. In addition to a powerful PC with enough Ram, CPU and GPU (with HDMI), it would need the correct number of USB 3 ports as well to run the Rift & sensors.
So not every PC is compatible.

Never tried one of these but heard good things so temping are thier plenty of good games and do they look good using this and is the vive better ?

Ditto, must have checked Amazon like 20 times throughout the day

Initially tried to get John Lewis to price match Oculus rift but they refused as they don't have a shop presence

I wish I’d only checked 20 times! I was thinking of biting at the oculus store deal but their customer services sound pretty poor. Much better deal this. Hot!

just buy it.... love mine.. great piece of kit............

Just to piggy back onto this comment, for any queries on the rift, Reddit really is a great place to go. You can get lots of help from the guys on there.

I am tempted just not sure how much i would use it

Amazon warehouse Italy had loads about 2 days ago for £220. Might be worth a look across all warehouse sites to see if any left.

if you like watching movies. there is a cinema app. its like you are actually in an IMAX cinema with other people watching a movie..
I have watched loads of movies this way.. saves going to the pics.

I own both the Vive and the Rift, I know more about this than you do.

And I own the Rift, owning both doesn't mean anything, other than you're talking about minimums for VR being a 1050 ti, that isn't a minimum, its terrible, just go away as I said, you look like a right nerd. ay.

I look like a nerd? you look like you inject steroids and secretly sleep with your wifes male boss.

the minimum specs mean something, learn about tech before you post a failed and wrong opinion. You're misleading and stupid.

woohoo, so nearly got this at £399, Christmas sorted. Anyone see any good B.F. GPU deals?

at Currys I beleive

Bought mine at 399 not that impressed the novelty wears off quickly. This is a better price so definitely hot.

I have a GTx 970 and i74790K with 16GB DDR3 RAM, will this be good enough for this or should I wait until I upgrade?

Just finished setting this up ie testing for xmas, just 10 minutes testing. So anyway 6 hours later OMFG its awesome. Soon as these go to 70 megapixels per eye Im going on life support and staying plugged in. The cinema set up is great. I did almost throw up on the space walk. I wont lie thinking how close we are to full on real VR almost brought a tear to my eye. Its going to be 3yrs before we see afordable real 20/20 vr so this is a steal at this price

You will be fine, you just won't be able to use supersampling. I had this exact same setup.

I'd like to upgrade to a 1080 or 1070Ti but prices seem high still
